Not as anticipated
Sep. 30th, 2011 10:33 pmThat's the theme for today, that and disappointment. This whole day that is, starting with the weather. It was blustery, damp and cold. I don't mind cold but i DO mind bone-penetrating damp. Yuck. I had to leave work early to go to see my surgeon. Naturally 1001 students wanted me and it took my computer 30 minutes to do the ONE function I had to do before I left.
So I was running behind. I eventually realized I would NOT get my much-coveted lunch at the Happy Greek. I had to pull off and get fast food that did not sit well with me both mentallyand physically. I only got to the doctor's office with 10 minutes to spare (I should haven there an hour early to get that damn lunch).
The doctor is unimpressed. As am I. I have an internal rotation contracture. He's going to go all Don Quixote on me and see if he can get my insurance to pay for more PT. I'll contact my brother since we all know how this will go. I have A LOT more work to do to bust out these adhesions in my rotator cuff. It's not healing as expected BUT he doesn't think it's because of the diabetes which would result in far worse contractures so that is good. Needless to say I'm a little depressed about it.
I head back out into the cold drizzle and everyone has left off for friday early. Wrecks everywhere. I take refuge in Whole Foods Market and Trader Joes and B&N. I did pick up the Blue Exorcist manga someone recced but thought I was going to meet a sticky end in the B&N bathroom. All the stalls were full and the walls of the stalls were held into the wall by one half-unscrewed screw. Man I do NOT want to be crushed to death in a bookstore bathroom.
I went to Aladdins for dinner. It's a chain of middle eastern food. i didn't know that but it came recommended. Well, maybe it was my mood or the food was off but my shawrma had little taste. It wasn't bad but it wasn't oooo omg go there good either like I was told. I should have just gone to the Happy Greek.
And then I made a memory hiccup. I thought where I was was A LOT closer to downtown than it was. Yeah 40 minutes later I get out of the city. It sprinkles all the way home. pouring now so I'm glad it waited.
at least the cheeses I got at Trader Joe's didn't disappoint. Yum. (and I did a bad thing. I bought some date/coconut logs omg yummy)
Three new characters tried to introduce themselves to me all day today. GO AWAY
ETA - Shifty's bar was demolished. sniffle b ut i DID find a new bar on High. St. I have to use 'The VIllage Idiot'. Just watch SOMEONE will be drinking at the Villiage Idiot

or at least my garden. The rose loves the cooler weather. what a disaster this garden is my poor arm just couldn't do the weeding. I'm embarrassed

Date: 2011-10-01 02:39 am (UTC)I hope your doctor can get more P.T. for you. That sucks. Mom's therapist is still bragging on her because of how much range of motion she has - he said she shouldn't even be able to do some of the stuff she's doing. I thought I'd scanned in a copy of her x-rays but I can't find them. D: She wanted you to see. Maybe I can copy and mail them to you. Her shoulder looks like it's got automail in it.

Yeah, I know you can.
Lots of metal. The screws look like they're about four inches long, and there are four of them.

Date: 2011-10-01 02:45 pm (UTC)The garden has a wilderness quality to it. Makes it seem more alive and vibrant than something that has been weeded down to only the selected plants. It looks fuller.
