Yeah the writing load hasn't lightened up or become more reasonable not that I expected it to. At least I've met some obligations. Points to last night's writerly ways if you want to see my original characters. I might need more help tonight or tomorrow on another original story bit.
However, now work is getting into the act. It's mid terms. YIKES. How the fuck did that happen? And then we're getting slammed with projects with less than a week to turn them around. Not fun. Not productive either.
Keeping it short tonight because of the writing load. I will kick myself in the ass if I miss the word count cut off for getting art in the big bang.
ANNNNND I forgot Dad's camera that he gave to me takes ENORMOUS pictures. I can barely upload them. I'm going to call it a night and do this at work. However, I did get a few up and I'm going to a) try to brighten up the really dark ones b) group them, bronzes, ladies, nature, etc) so here we go but first

My students were fascinated by it. Why is it on your hand? Because traditionally it was placed there in Hindu weddings and until it wore off the newlwed woman didn't have to do housework, her husband did. The guys were NOT impressed. Geez dudes, get over yourselves

and a close up

The following seven photos are of something I have never seen before, taking it from many angles.

The embedded headstones from the earlier burials is different

I had to lighten this up soyou could see the all-seeing eye at the top. weird.

close up of the woman surrounded by ram's heads among other things

another side...

And another close up. What the hell is this? God carrying someone to heaven? Zeus (i swear I saw several Zeuses in this cemetery), what's with the faded faces in the background of this carving?

and the last side i could get at. I know nothing abouto this particular grave but if I ever go back I'm going to ask about it.

Amazing. John G. Robinson IV, this is one where someone walked up to me and said 'know who this is for?' They claim he was the first American to come up with a traveling circus. The dates on the side (not shown here) make me dubious about that since he would have been very young to have beat out Barnum but i have yet to google the claim.

Closer up

Front and side of the winter recieving vault.
wildrider weren't you just asking about these? In the hand shoveling days, you had to put the coffins somewhere to wait for thaw. This is where two guys drove up to me and would not let me go, digging around their rather messy car to find more tidbits about the cemetery. Apparently George Reeves (superman, the original) committed suicide (maybe) which I knew but I thought it was in LA not OH. Go figure. supposedly he was interred in this recieving vault and then cremeated and sent to CA. I just think a) it's very cool b) that I'm sad it was chained off so I couldn't climb into it.
