Mega death
Oct. 13th, 2011 11:11 pmThat's the name of the sauce i shoved on my lunch, a mix of cayanne and habanero. Let me clarify. I have no actual lunch break on thursday. I usually drink a diabetic shake in front of the class. We also have a young student buying his way into our good graces by making lunch every thursday. Today he made a crock pot full of chili dogs. I am powerless in front of a Coney Island dog. i had two then and one later (bye bye diet). But since chili isn't hot enough, I grabbed the megadeath sauce. Saw a friend and broke off a piece of dog for them...i think I may have killed them with this. My stomach still isn't sure what the fuck I did to it but my brain is happy.
I love Big Bang Theory tonight (well not Bernadette's part). I had to tweet about it. I don't normally share my tweets since well i kinda find twitter pointless but here you go: @wilw and @BrentSpiner both on Big Bang Theory at the same time? My night was totally made. Mom called and said DID YOU SEE THEM? That was so funny. Old fan girls are the best. And I can relate, Sheldon. I still remember Adam West not showing up as Batman at a con in the 70's. I cried my little eyes out
check me out. I’m guest blogging It would be nice if you dropped in and see what these authors have to offer.
and check out this cool blog post on the use of the skeptic in fiction.
I still very challenged by getting this big bang up to word count with all else i have to do this month

Well not this, this was just a very cool tree monument

but the graves it watchs over are disappearing fast

The ground and the tree are conspiring

you can only read his first name

Date: 2011-10-14 03:20 am (UTC)I have a cousin who can eat Habanero's raw and never even blink. He/she has completely freaked out waiters numerous times doing this.

Date: 2011-10-14 03:23 am (UTC)There used to be two little graves by the side of where the Loop 43 went through in Phoenix -- they've since moved them, and I still drive by there looking for where they used to be--I never stopped and looked at them, and I often wish I had. I can only assume they were left from when Phoenix was pioneer country, but I always THINK about these people...
(This is one of the many reasons I'm a writer.)

Date: 2011-10-14 03:42 am (UTC)I enjoyed reading your guest blog! Total agreement over research for historical fiction. I actually had done a couple historic novels and I would at least do some research. Too bad they're badly written and I already deleted them, LOL.

Re. Big Bang - I'm experiencing similar feelings of pressure. My new teaching schedule is kicking my ass and I'm not so great yet at setting aside time to write and getting back in the zone after the chaos of the house move (tho producing some fun small things for fmagiftexchange has helped get me back into the writing headspace, thanks ELD!). I was toying with asking to host a week of

I totally understand. I was going to say it's good just to see you commenting again. I figured the move and the work were kicking your ass. I'm even having trouble with the gift exchange mostly because I have two other writing deadlines and one of those is a different gift exchange so....
not to mention I still haven't finished all my lectures for this semester in that new class and it's mid-terms. shoot me.
i'll check that out

Date: 2011-10-15 04:07 pm (UTC)That grave disappearing into the tree is kinda freaky. What would be really ironic is if the family of that person had planted that tree there, or even if they picked that spot so he could be under that tree. He's REALLY under it now.

Date: 2011-10-15 08:20 pm (UTC)it's very possible they did plant it or at least picked it. Nowadays you can actually have your ashes become tree fodder. My new plan for the parents. They seem okay with that

Date: 2011-10-15 08:45 pm (UTC)I hadn't heard about the tree fodder thing - that makes a lot of sense. I'm sure it's cheaper by a long shot than the "make 'em into a diamond" option, too. *lol* I don't think anyone around here offers any kind of green funeral options. This area is so backwards.

Date: 2011-10-15 09:47 pm (UTC)Mom's still hinting about the diamond thing. I kept mentioning that if she likes Pawn Stars so much she might find herself in vegas one last time

Date: 2011-10-16 05:11 am (UTC)I had forgotten about Night Court! Yes! He was great on that one, too - and a recurring role, whereas the one on Frazier was a one-off. It was such a great pairing, of him and Lilith, I almost hoped they would do a spinoff featuring them (as much as I usually loathe spinoffs.) I always loved Lilith's character anyway.

Lillith was a great character
