Lost 2 pounds. who knows why. My body is totally freaked out

I didn't mention that my period started while at the Renn fest last weekend, one week after it stopped from the usual one. The cysts are back and bad. I have had the double period since this time last year as it turns out. Not sure what's up with October but it's wrecknig havoc on my system or something. Dumb ass cyst. Weird thing, my blood sugar is going lower than it has in 3 years. Wish I knew why

I made a diabetic friendly apple crisp tonight. If i weren't so slammed for time I'd hook you up. Maybe later. gah. this is why I stopped with recipes, not that I thought no one cared but time. curse you. I need a time turner.

I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] fma_fic_contest and contests like it for helping me learn to write short. That's the thing helping me with this Rule of Three challenge and getting stories like A Brief Respite out there professionally. Speaking of the contest, damn it was hard picking this week.

Other than that today was spent grocery shopping and going to Big Lots where I bought a Halloween thing for the house with an electric cord so short as to be useless. need to hunt up my extension cord and three stakes skulls that are sound activated. I'm not going to stake them. I'm just going to put them on the floor in my office and scare students. Also made a test (speaking of scaring students) and cleaned the bathroom finally.

The artist for all the terra cotta items is Mike Makras and I bought so much (which still was under 40$ so I'm not weeping) because he's retiring due to both age and poor health. I shall miss his work. I would have bought more if I could have carried it and had a place to put it. Somewhere in storage back home I'm hoping are three gargoyles I bought from him in the 90's.

I am addicted to the three aspects artwork. I think I would be regardless of my religious beliefs. I think it's a powerful image. Here around ceridwyn's cauldron are the maiden, the mother and the crone.

Photobucket

a snake trisekla of the maid walking with a shower of flowers, the mother walking with larger more mature blossoms and the crone walking with stars and you can hang it so any of them aspects are at the top. Once I can hang it (I have shit drywall. I need to find some hercules hooks since there is next to no studs in the shaky shack) I think I'll rotate them spring summer and fall/winter

Artemis is now on my bookcase. I've wanted her for years and she was the only piece I was going to get to conserve money to buy a pendant but... I love Artemis and Athena. If i were to construct myself a pantheon of personal goddesses those two would be there from the Greek quarters

and from Bob Evans Farm Fest, from the people who make silverware jewelry

Photobucket

copperish Cthulu. I can't wait to make this into something (which means I'll put it in a drawer and forget it for years) I forgot to mention there was a new vendor there who was making steampunkish necklaces b ut not quite was I was looking for. I still remember one vendor [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog & [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn and I saw in Winter Park who had amazing stuff that looked steampunk before the movement even really took off but i was poor and feverish and didn't buy anything

Yeah, this is why you get a wagon...or a big dog with a rucksack. :D

Maybe [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn could make something really cool out of it for you.

Helper dogs are allowed everywhere. :D You could use a helper dog.

You might need a helper dog anyway. Of course, they're really expensive.

and they're a dog and I do not have a lifestyle conducive to dogs. Cats fend for themselves. they are better

Ah, but a helper dog can go anywhere with you. :D

When I had an ovarian cyst (bigger than the ovary!, my periods were completely freaky. I always had really heavy flows, but with the cyst it was ridiculous. I hope you can get the cysts removed. They removed the ovary, and I went into full menopause. Not missing the ovary at all.

They did show me the pictures of the ovary, and the suspicious cells they found. Ovaries really do look like flower buds, don't they? In a way, it was very pretty. But it had to GO.

Really, really love the triskelion!

I've been terrible lately. I think I'm trying to commit slow suicide by overeating, if that's possible. Bleah.

too small to operate so she wants to take the uterus. I told her no because it's the CYST fucking up my blood sugar not the uterus. luckily the flow is a lot lighter now than it used to be.

Ovaries do.

it's nice.

oops, that's too bad

I am stress eating big time, mostly late after work. and probably drinking more than I would if I were at home. Plus the girls in my office live on chocolate apparently. This job and living in hotel and doing me in, and I should know better, since it's happened before, and yet don't seem to be able to stop. Some character flaw...

oh that sucks. I'm so glad stress kills my appetite

oops.

all of those maiden/mother/crone pieces and Artemis are incredible! It's a shame that such a talented artist is retiring.

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
he's very talented. I've seen his designs sold to things like the pyramid collection made in resin and sold for 3 times what he sells them for in terra cotta (though one assumes he gets a cut of the other)

Indeed, this week's [livejournal.com profile] fma_fic_contest entries were hard to pick. That contest also was good practice for me in writing short entries.

The stuff you got at the fests are awesome! The snake one is my favorite.

it was super harad this time and it is good practice. god knows the novelist in me needs it.

thanks. yes I've been wanting that for years.

Pretty, pretty terra-cotta. I wonder what's going to become of the artist's molds after he retires? I hope somebody might continue to produce pieces from those molds. It would be a shame to break them or put them away in mothballs indefinitely.

Cysts, yuck. Weekly periods, even more yuck. As awful as menopause is, I swear sometimes it can't come fast enough.

i didn't think to ask that sadly. I do know some molds were sold like that raven pentacle I got you. I know you saw it in resin as have I in pyramid and gaelsong selling for waht I could have gotten 4-5 terra cotta ones for.

i hear you
