So do I have a computer or not?
Nov. 22nd, 2011 08:52 pmThat is the question. Even though IT told me that they couldn't look at my computer when it died, they changed their mind and today they got my info off off of it, all THIRTY gig. (dear god) In fact I have to bring an external hard drive to get this info back. AND it does have a virus. If it can be cleaned, I'll buy the external drive and baby this computer a while longer. then again the best deals are now and with my luck the computer will die in 3 months. Sigh. what to do? what can be saved? Hope to find out tomorrow.
In the mean time I know I gave people a copy of A Brief Respite. Can someone email it me back?
I did call today and manage to get the cats boarded tomorrow at the vets. I didn't want to. I was going to take them but my arm hurts way more than i want to deal with chasing them around the house at grandma's.
Mom said my aunt took a bad fall today. See, as much as I love multistoried houses, I swear anyone over 65 should own a damn ranch. She was trying to move the big mixer upstairs from the downstairs kitchen to the upstairs one (don't ask) and she has a bad heart. She might have gotten dizzy and she fell backwards OVER the railing. They didn't find anything broken but she is barely able to move. I am SO sorry I said yes to going home. this is going to suck.
Provided I get out of here. I had to miss yet another nano write in because of how many roads are closed due flooding. It's rained like 3 inches a day for the last 2 days.
Snippet for the Day - “You're an odd man, not like I imagined,” Sverre said at last.
“I'm not surprised.”
“I thought you'd be a monster.” Sverre studied Drake. “But I think that might be too easy. It's more complicated than that.”
“Yes, it is. I know it doesn't matter to you but the things I did in the war have never rested easy with me. I regret them but I can not undo them,” Drake said so softly Sverre doubted his man outside in the bed of the truck could have heard him.
“No you can't,” Sverre growled. “You can't apologize for the things you did.” He shook his prosthesis, the metal hooks clanking together. “Not for this.”
“And I haven't tried. I know it would only serve to make me feel better and there are some things you shouldn't feel better about,” Drake replied, putting the truck in park.
