Cats are a health hazard. I got Soul and Kanda back from the kennel after a very long day and I was afraid a) I had stepped in poo at the vets b) they poohed in the carrier (there was however, a lady with a laundry basket full of cute puppies and the happiest damn airedal I've ever seen). Turns out it was neither. It smelled like the boys had wallowed with pigs the whole time I was gone even though they were clean looking.

For the first hour, they avoided me like I might murder them. Finaly Soul forgave me and came over and stinky went right into the sink. He strained and strained but he weighs like five pounds max. I could do that all day. He got washed. Kanda took longer to catch and he's too fat for a sink so into the tub he went. Normally they're better than this about being washed but it was one trauma too many today.

ANd the worst part is I spent two hours setting out my dissected cats today and formalin lingers. You can NOT smell it on me. I smell like the shit frick and frack's fur retained, now many hours later and who knows how many hand washings. Well at least now their fur is shiny and fluffy and soft.

My car needs a 30,000 mile check up. I call the dealership and ask what it entails. topping off of all fluids, inspecting under the hood/under the car, hoses, weather stripping etc etc. Dad had encouraged me to go. I get the price then call dad.

Me - explains all the doodads they'll be doing

Dad - That sounds decent

Me -they said it would take half a day

Dad - nothing you described takes that long. What did you forget

Me - to mention the price is 400$

Dad _ WHAT! Forget it. Your uncle will do it (Dad's brother is a mechanic). Go get the oil changed

Snippet of the Day (and not the one where he's playing with clay but it sounds unexpectedly dirty)

“I wish I could do something to make you feel better.”

He shook his head. “It's not your problem.”

“That doesn't mean I don't want to help. I'm tired of feeling powerless,” she said. “My boy wakes up crying like this in the middle of the night and I can never do anything to help him either. All I can do is worry about what he's doing all by himself in Militant Star City. I hope the spirit of his grandmother is a comfort to him there. He can't even count on having someone there to hold him at night but he won't appreciate me telling you that.”

Sverre managed a thin smile. “I won't tell him. He has nightmares?” He couldn't imagine that. Drake was a monster. He'd seen the man in action. Sverre knew what he was capable, the last few days aside.

I am laughing at your dad. However, I wish your uncle would look at Connor Grey and figure out what that squealing sound is, and I'm starting to feel like Penny for my "Check Engine" light, but what do I do, when I can't afford to get it checked?

Bathing Dino was always a chore and a half. Man. I felt like I'd go through half a bottle of shampoo just for him.

Mine hasn't been on that long. I bet it's the O2 sensor, like in Ishmael.

Yeah. Wonder how he ever made out, finally getting returned to his family. Man, I was glad to see him go.

those frigging sensors are expensive but mine never made a noise, well not until they made the catalytic converter blow out

poor Dino

Cats are weirdly ungrateful for being made soft and fluffy and shiny! Mine like to kick me in the stomach with claws out the second I've combed out all the dry shampoo.

Yeah, remember when Chriiiiiiissss and I changed the O2 sensor in Izzy? It was a $400 job, it took the two of us about two hours and cost about $110 for the part. Over 110 minutes of those two hours were trying to find the sensor itself.

yeah. My parts for the other honda were over 300$ back in 05. I fear knowing what they are now and that damn catalytic converter costed over 2 grand

i never even thought of dry shampoo.

Soul is just glad he's no longer in the kennel. Poor Kanda still seems stressed and is taking it out on the cords behind the tv

Aww poor kitties. And poor you having to wash them while they were unhappy.

Gosh, mechanics really do make a killing for things people can do themselves if they google a few things and know all the right stuff about their cars.

Also, congrats on your Nano word count. That's awesome.
