And then maybe I can rest. Today was actually pretty easy, though I suspect my parents were fighting before I got up since both were in a foul mood (well not unexpected thing since he can't go 10 minutes without being insufferable or insulting)
Spent the morning at my aunt and uncle's (they were suppose to be up here last night but as per usual they faked an illness forcing us to go to them)
Spent the afternoon at granny's and for once she was happy to see us (surely she'll bitch about it next time). Finally learned that granny met grandpa at Shady Lane bar. I had NO idea it was that old of a place. He would never dance so she went up to him with a 'hi handsome' and dragged him off to dance. I started getting a little queasy there but thought I was hungry.
Came home, had chicken for dinner. Couldn't eat it. The mere smell nauseated me. Gave it to Dad. I could eat other things on the plate but not the chicken. Im exhausted too. So very exhausted.
The run down of christmas goodies can wait til I'm more coherent.
I DO want to say this. of ALL the things the Catholic Church needed to change, WHY change the responses in the ritual? Everyone knows them by heart. And to change them into clunky groveling language and to make them LONGER has only served to irritate the parishioners. At one point, our priest finally decided 'screw this' and went back to the mass responses we all know. He also said that he hadn't gotten his Christmas wish yet. With Hines Ward retiring, Father is waiting for his call to play for the Steelers (it's even funnier if you know he's an old dude)
But here's a picture. My brother had a theme going. he gave us all mugs...
