I'll start this with I am SO glad that 2011 is gone. My brother and I had major surgeries (his more than mine), I lost two aunts, an uncle and a cousin (two were in their 90's and two only in their 60's), my job market like so many others were stagnant (then again this year would be a bad year to look since it's my tenure year and they'd take that as a bad sign). For half this year, I wished I didn't have two cats. My health took far too many down turns to make me happy.

On the good, I did publish and I'm within pages of finishing a novel. I still have a house and enough food and am relatively comfortable which puts me ahead of the game compared to far far too many.

Goals - I'm not great at New Year's resolutions. I will make the usual lame ones about weight loss and exercising more. I'm not setting a concrete goal because with my health issues that'll only put undue stress on me. I lose what I lose. Hell, if I don't gain, I'm doing good.

I will write. I will try to write every day if only a little. i will finish half done projects.

I might even consider moving into a house but I've begun to lose my nerve. in 6 months, I can look for a job again (and hopefully I'll have my tenure and they'll see I'm making a conscious choice to start over and not being forced out). I'm not sure i can handle living where I am for the rest of my life.

I might even look for a partner. Who's to say.

My year in review for fiction will be held up a bit. It takes me a while and I've been too busy to even start it. Every year I say I'll post a list AS I post the damn things up but never do. Hell, I have tons of fma_fic_contest and fanfic_bakeoff stories yet to post. Here's a resolution, post them promptly damn it. this time I'm trying NOT to look at any previous posts because it'll only depress me.
