The moon landing. I was two. (yeah look at me dating myself). I remember the whole family gathering at my grandfather's house to watch their tv. My aunts and uncles, cousins, parents, grandparents, great grandma. I distinctly remember being told to be very quiet because it was SO important.

Funny thing, this Christmas my uncle dragged out the super 8 movies (he's planning ot convert them to digital) and he actually recorded the tv as it broadcasted the landing.

omg what a fantastic thing to have! I'm sure there's archival footage out there up the wazoo, but for your uncle to have a copy of the broadcast that's his very own, that's something special.

and yeah you can barely tell what the image is in a few places (and it's silent being old super 8) but it is cool
