My day started too early

Woke up at a quarter to five for a pee break and thought I heard something but frick and frack were right outside the door so I dismissed it. I crawl into bed and hear it again. Fucking mice in the ventilation. AGAIN!!! Or at least I'm hoping it's mice. The cats can kill mice. We have monster rats around here too. Ugh. Vermin. I couldn't go back to sleep
I had to get up at 7 anyhow to get to my 6 hour meeting (which allowed me to finish the novel). I have to say this was a positive meeting. I don't want to get into the partnerships the school has made but I finally feel a little better about the president's ridiculous salary. She's doing stuff. It's hard to say how this feels. It's been SCARY. Forget about the students for a minute, since I've been here, this college has been floundering. It now has a balanced budget (not much of one but still) and we're making partnerships, we're getting our name out there and we're slowly rebuilding. There have been school meetings where I've left thinking I will not have a job soon. This was better than that. So much so people commented on it in the meeting.
I still have a lot of work to do by monday but I did find out the class that I got stiffed on was more the VA hospital's fault. Someone up there set this all up without getting final approval and the administrators were a tad surprised to say the least. Gah. Really?
Did get a few more things cleaned up around here. That's a positive. Got the cards ready to send to charity and/or cut up for gift labels next year. Progress.
