another what the hell day

It was a lovely day. Blue sky, Simpsons clouds. The first nursing anatomy went fine. Lab went fine. Calling about the malfunctioning lab equipment went fine. I start my lecture and the power went out. WHY??? Then the fire alarm goes off. I shoo everyone out. No one wants to go. I'm like do you TRUST this place NOT to be on fire? That got them moving. We stand around laughing because it's ludicrous. Then we learn the whole town is out. It's not coming back. I dismiss them, more than mildly annoyed since the afternoon class is now a full day behind the morning. I cancel out on my apt with the personal trainer because I have to get my lab equipment updated and charged which surprisingly enough needs electricity.

I go to the body shop and turn over Naru. Enterprise gave me a death trap rolling tin can Nissan Versa. This is the worst car I've ever been in. I'm 20 pounds too fat to even be IN this car. I try to move the seat back up and couldn't find the handle because my hand was IN the door pocket. That's right. This thing is SO small you can not put your hand between the door and car seat. The knobs turn like they belong on a toy car and it rides like a buckboard. It'll be a long week...

my apt is degenerating to the point i'm embarrassed to come home. I need to find time to clean before someone slips and die

speaking of which I think 'bath day' is going to be 1-2 days a week. My shoulder is PISSED that I made it help lever me out of the tub.

Wait until a real fire comes and then see if they're prepared, lol. Reminds me the time when the dorm building I stayed at freshman year was on fire (something about electrical cords being unstable, heh). D: Luckily no one got hurt.

reminds me of my apt on Lake Erie back in medical school. I lived on the 11th floor and the alarm was ALWAYS going off and I'd get dizzy running down all those flights. I said no more unless I saw smoke.

The tiniest, most annoying rental car I was ever in was a Geo. I'm an average-to-short woman, and even I felt like I needed to fold my knees around my ears!

Yeah, I wouldn't trust your building not to be on fire, either...but then the cascades of leaking water might put it out.

this is the sedan and sadly is probably the worst thing I've ever driven. Of course some of the poor ride qualities could be because it's a rental

Oren is black inside and out.

Now I've always driven small cars and I am an average sized middle aged white woman (5'5", size 16 ass)so maybe I'm having a different experience.

Maybe she is just an exemplary specimen!

Seriously, she handles like a dream, she gets great gas mileage, and I've done 2.5-3 hour trips.

Now, I've also never driven a Toyota I like so YMMV.

you're brave having a black car where you live.

I have no place for my legs. I have the seat pulled all the way back and I'm driving with my knees. I have no idea how a man over 6 foot gets in this car.

and being a rental I know affects gas mileage since it's already gone thru a quarter tank and all I did was drive it home. (seriously I'm wondering if it has a hole in the tank. it should not be riding and eating gas like a truck)

Yeah, I've been in a Versa. It sucked. the only thing worse than that is a Smartcar, which is surprisingly roomie but I wouldn't want to use something like that for anything other than running around in town.

two of my former neighbors have a smart car. unless I was doing total city living yeah I wouldn't want one either
