My superpower is talking

I talked for five straight hours (i.e. did my job) then went into the tenure interview. I can talk. I can bullshit with the best of them. Hell shutting up is the hard part. evil_little_dog & silvrethorn can attest to this. I'm an Italian with an Irish gift of gab.

This is an advantage in an interview. Toss me any weird ass question you want and I can nail it usually. I think I did very well in the interview. Right up to the point when I left with a little flourish with my hat and suddenly couldn't figure out how to get out the door. Finally my friend goes you PULL. I just turned around and said 'now there's an endorsement of how great I am!' and stumbled out in shame.

And I belatedly realized my interview outfit looked like I was cosplaying Firo from Baccano nothing like a pinstripe suit and a cloche-like hat.

So now to wait until their decision moves up the chain to provost to president to board. It might be summer (literally, not joking here) before I know.

ETA. How could I forget this??? I started walking toward my office today and coming up it was a man in an ape suit carrying a sack and a kid video taping him. The ape waves at me then asks me do I know what day it is.

'Looking at you, I have to say no I don't.'

Any guesses?

Um not really.

I'm dressed for it. He opens the sack and I see bananas.

Banana day?

Am I wearing a banana? hmmm. No. SO HAPPY GORILLA SUIT DAY.
