I'm already sweating to death. This blows. Whines whines whines. (Oh geez, the computer fan just came on, that's how hot it is)

My bank has decided that I never use my savings account and they're going to close it and keep my money if they don't hear from me by the end of the week. bite me. Wanna play games with me bank? We'll play keeping in mind me winning might mean me and all my money going to play at another bank.

In better news how reading fiction affects your brain neuroscience for the win. Love it. Got it from my author's list

I forgot to mention this last night but I'm loving Jamie Lee Curtis's role. It's good to see Gibbs with a woman who suits him. I haven't liked a subplot like this one in years and haven't liked a love interest for him since Colonel Mann

back to the grinding board. Got one lecture done, getting the review done, did some editing and even some writing then fell asleep in the middle of doing arm exercises. geez.

And this is right near me in Athens (well not like my back yard but this is where i go to play. boulders destroy house

This heat is making me nuts. I feel like we went straight from Fall to Summer, with no Spring or Winter. And I got the pup, so I am having to go "walkies" outside every hour or so, and sweating buckets.

We got sick of Bank of America's shenanigans, and joined a small local bank, and have been very, very happy with it. I would have joined a credit union, but there weren't any in our area that we were eligible for that were had convenient branches. But there were two very well-rated small local banks, and we have been very impressed with it so far - and their services and rates were comparable, or really better, than BoA, with a lot less "Attitude."

no argument. I'm nauseous from the heat, dehydrated from sweating and my eyes are swollen nearly shut on one side from the pollen. this early summer can bite the fattest part of my ass.

ugh BoA. I wouldn't touch them if you paid me. I do have other options. we'll see what they say when I call them tomorrow

Yeah, I loathed BoA for years, but it took a while to convince the hubs they were really the Agents of the Devil that they are, enough to go through the inconvenience of switching banks (it is kind of a pain in the arse.) But I am glad that we've done it, and really glad to throw our business to someone totally local, who has managed to resist both the bailout and being assimilated by one of the megabanks, and is determined to stay that way.

I keep forgetting about the damn pollen, and wondering why I've had a headache every day for three weeks. It's so much earlier than I usually get it like this. It's also been almost 90% humidity here, which makes it all seem worse, somehow. (whine whine whine....)

On the subject of banks, I have to say that credit unions are a very nice option.

i have one that's now ripping me for 15$/month to keep it open. i'm not happy with THEM either but I ususally prefer them to banks

Argh. Mine does not charge like that. They vary a lot--I used to use one that was totally incompetent and screwed me royally as a result, but at least it wasn't making somebody rich a lot richer. The one I use now calls me if I try to deposit a check that's bad so I don't have to pay a fee, among other nice qualities. BoA would just try to deposit it again and again until the fees ate up the account.

My bank does have nice ammenties but they are annoying me now. BoA sucked. I ditched them years ago

I love that article (and shared it on FB, I see you did, too). I also read portions of it to Mom.

I didn't read the NCIS spoilers, though. :D

I'm very lucky with my bank. I changed to them after my small local bank was assimilated into BB&T that I hated right from the get-go.

I really didn't like Jamie Lee's role the first episode she was on, but I totally loved her Tuesday. And I agree, she and Gibbs totally suit. :-)

yeah I don't blame you

The first time she was a little too...something that was offputting but Tuesday was great. (and it helps that I really like Jamie Lee)

Dormant accounts will be closed and turned over to the state by every bank/financial institution. Each bank will have their own time frame for inactivity (anywhere from one to five years, usually), but generally I advise that people make a minimum of one deposit or withdrawal per year from open accounts to keep them in active status.

yes I know but I DO use it, every month. Which is why I was annoyed. They do have records of the transactions but apparently it didn't trigger the right thing
