Hey my parents informed me they found me the perfect house right on the OH river, i.e. a double wide back in some patch of woods.....

evil_little_dog, a meme Ask me to give you a color, and I will. You must then name ten things this color reminds you of. ELD gaved me green which is one of my favorites.
1. I think of forests when I think of green. Forests are my favorite ecosystem. I feel very at home in them. My dream house would be near a forested lake. I do love the fall colors, but I love equally much the first unfurling of the green leaves in the spring (the pollen not so much but that’s yellow and doesn’t count). Trees are ancient and they speak to us if we take the time to listen.

2. Ireland. Even though I’ve not yet managed to go there, Ireland naturally comes to mind, the Emerald Isle, the song of rebellion in the wearing of the green, the green fields. Mostly, when I see pictures of Ireland, it’s not of its cities but of those beautiful rolling landscapes of green dotted occasionally with sheep, ruins and standing stones and that, to me, is beautiful.
3. Green eyes, I have a special weakness for green eyes. I most often like deep brown eyes but there is something about green that I can’t escape. Many many MANY of my characters end up with green eyes.
4. Tea, yes I like black tea better but I’ve learned how to properly brew green tea (thank yousilvrethorn for that book). Green tea can be so tasty, so varied and so darned good for you. 
5. Emeralds, easily one of my favorite stones. I have no interest at all in diamonds but I love emeralds. I can not afford emeralds. This makes me very sad. Mom wanted to buy me jewelry for Christmas til she saw my tastes.
6. The doors to my lab/class room are green. I’m not sure it’s a favorite thing, okay I’m sure it’s NOT but I think of them when I think of green. Instead of them, have a picture of a place I really liked in Deadwood, the Green Door club, so named for the brothel that used to be in that building. Green doors were used to denote whorehouses back then.
7. Money is green. I like money. I NEED money. Who doesn’t? No picture required. We know what money looks like and I’m getting bored.
8. Dragons, in my mind dragons are green. Granted my dragon, Hikaru, is looking at me askance and pointing out he is not green. But you could have been my friend, you could have been.
9. Luna moths, one of my favorite bugs. They’re beautiful creatures. My father would tell me fairy tales about the Lunas when I was little. I always believed there is something otherworldly about them. Now, in my adult life, I can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen one. I hope they’re not endangered.
10. Spock’s Blood. Come on, it’s me. You know this is the very first thing I think of when I think of green. I was just saving the best for last.
