The fates heard me

They heard me saying I wanted to go to the Ohio State Fair. I was sent something in the mail today, no not about the fair, from Scioto Downs. (yeah casinos DO share your info). They're offering me a chance to win 25-200$ in free play just for signing up (sold). Plus a free shot at the buffet. So my plan from last year comes roaring back to me. Stay the night. Do everything. So if all goes well, I run up thursday after work, hit the casino briefly just to get the food voucher (only available mon-thur), go to the hotel then go to the Ohio State Fair, eat garbage, die in hotel room. Revive in the morning go to the Irish festival until the heat murders me, slink into the cool casino, gamble with my freeplay then run home.

And forgetting that a weekend is the worst time to do anything on lj, I made a post with my anime/manga recs and was looking for yours. if you missed it, here it is. here

And in sadder news, my cousin's husband lost his nephew yesterday. I didn't know the young man. I woke up to the facebook post from my cousin saying 'my nephew passed away.' I knew it couldn't be her sister or brother's boys since mom would have called me. He sadly overdosed and died. I believe he was only in his 20s. I might not have known him but it's still very sad and I feel bad for my cousin's family.

Where is the Ohio State Fair being held? I've never been to a State Fair. Whaaaaat? *big blue eyes* Heck I've never even been to a County Fair!

Having alcoholics in my immediate family (though they lived quite a bit longer than this young man) I've seen this sort of thing too much
