Change of Plans

I started looking at hotels and all for tomorrow then realized a key fact when i went to get the address of the Dublin Irish fest (so I could plot out price/hotel/distance to event) and saw that yes it IS open friday but NOT until 4 in the afternoon. So I'm left with filling an entire day and running the risk that not all vendors will be open. My motivation for thursday was to get the buffet at the casino.

I decided who cares about that? I'd have to rush up over work any how. Instead I'll go friday. I can take my time, get my casino free play, go to the state fair (yes it'll be more crowded) in the afternoon and maybe even have time for a swim if the hotel has a pool. And even if things don't work for the fair it's still a friday night in COlumbus, i'll go to a movie or something. Then I can get up earlier on Saturday, go to the Irish fest in the morning and clear out before the afternoon heat sits in.

And how the hell did it get to be AUGUST already? Wow.

WHen I came home today, trying to cross the highway to my road I see an ambulance coming down the highway. NO ONE is getting out of his way (typical) an then he turns into my apt. The troublemaker neighbor was carted off.

Thanks to 0_mother_0 I'm doing a photo a day in August. I tried to put it on facebook but it wasn't interested in uploading. Sigh.

The prompt today is 'Outside' This hot mess is my perennial garden. You can see two kinds of Asiatic lillies, two kinds of day lilies, butterfly weed, the elm that won't die, roses, st john's wort, flaming spirea and lambs ears.

Ooo, Irish fest. Sigh. I want something interesting to happen somewhere nearby, but there just doesn't seem to be anything like that.

Yeah, the Germania Mantecor is literally a block from my house. I have to be careful the weekends it's open, because I'll come home and not have a place to park.

Ooo, bluegrass.

I can't afford the spirits tasting event. IIRC, last year, the tickets were at least $40.00. Or were they $100? it's the same as the chocolate tasting festival, out of my price range.

Germania Mantecor does have good food, but that's about it. Maybe I could pick up some...maybe.

What a pretty garden you have! We had lambies ear in the old house we used to live in. I wish I could find them for this house. Love your lilies too! And you're lucky you ahve roses! Every time I plant them; they die on me. T.T

Possibly, They usually last for one season for me & then that's it. I have one that's kinda sad looking, that keeps dying off in spots for me, It seems like it's got a strong desire to live, but it's a really sickly looking thing. XD
