Well nine x-rays and a few hours later, nothing's broken. I DO have a traumatized lateral collateral ligments and a effusion of the mid-tarsal region (not to mention massive spurs up the achilles tendon, off the plantar calcaneus, medial dislocation of the 5th mpj and an atavistic medial cuneiform but those are ancillary discoveries). The upshot of all this doctor talk? A bad lateral ankle sprain AND a mid-foot sprain. I'm suppsed to be on crutches. I said no because of my hand. They put me on ultram which I thought I'd get tomorrow then realized I won't be going in to work tomorrow to make photocopies because I'm not permitted to stairwalk and there is NO elevator in the building and I would need to get to the third floor. I AM in a compression dressing and air cast.

It was so cool though, all the x-rays are on line and you can cone done and clarifying things. It is so kick ass. I would have killed for this when I was doing podiatry. (and yet another doctor wants out. Every doctor I meet wants to quit.) Best part is I USUALLY have on my boots and this wouldn't have happened in them but I was only going to get food out of the garage and I had on my shoes.

And look here comes that five inches of snow.

ETA - I forgot to mention the one anatomy class on Thursday was canceled. ANd they really didn't want me to come in for micro. I need that money damn it. Wonder if my boss knows that class is now gone

Glad to hear there is nothing broken. Although from experience I can tell you that sprains take longer sometimes to heal than fractures! I broke some ribs and sprained my ankle once (falling off a horse) and the damned ankle took longer to get better than the ribs. Hope yours heals faster than mine. Best of luck!
Online Xrays are really cool. I was able to check mine after my last horse related accident this fall (my horse knocked me over onto my sternum - nothing broken.) Since I work in the hospital, I could just call the Xray up on the computer in the unit. Neat.

yeah tell me about it. I'm a podiatrist so at least I KNOW how to rehab an ankle. I left the practice before online x-rays but I did most of the reading of them today since I'm the foot expert.

Ouch, the horse accident sounds painful too

I'm glad that nothing's broken but a sprain is still not so good. Take care, hon. It would be nice for you to go a week without additional body pains.

tell me about it. I'm having a bad enough day as it is without the added pain.

Glad that at least nothing is broken, try to do your best to rest up and get better soon!

I miss snow, it never snows here. Though we have no central heating at all, and no protection against the cold so I guess it's just as well!

Ijust left a house with no central heating down in FL so I know what you mean
