Remember a month or so back when I posted a cute little yellow house right next to my office and I said the old lady who lived there smoked like a chimney and I wanted that house when she died. I got an email from the secretary today saying your house is empty. Yeah, she died yesterday. Oddly enough one of her sons nearly clipped my car in the parking lot and parked in her yard (I didn't know yet she was dead) and I almost spoke to him telling him I liked the house/yard but didn't. Boy am I glad I didn't. So I got my wish. My parents are ghoulishly thrilled.

and that horseman is still coming for me, my sugar barely dropped all day and now it's back to well over 300. seriously WTF.

Ever read a book, really loved it until the last ten pages then it's WTF? Yeah that was tonight. Gah.

The students got chewed out today, especially since several of them are allied health/nursing wanna bes. This being late to tests, not taking tests on time, leaving class whenever you fill like will not be tolerated and I pointed out the long waiting list for these classes should they FUCK UP.

A photo in day in August - prompt 8 o'clock.

My living room clock and next to it a wheel of the year, 8 O'clock there is my favorite time of the year, the autumnal equinox.

Yes, I have read books I've loved until the last ten pages/last chapter/last FREAKIN' PAGE. It ticks me off every. single. time.

So hopefully the son puts the old lady's house on the market soon. For your sake, anyway. :)

makes you want to scream, doesn't it?

Yes that would be nice. Of course do I really want to live on campus? and could I afford what they ask? we shall see

YES. The first one that comes to mind (one of the most recent, anyway) was "The Good Thief," and "Ravens," and...

ARGH.

i had the same reaction to the good thief and shall I remove ravens from the reading list?

this one was Trickster's Girl (YA)

Yeah, I wasn't really thrilled with "Ravens," but I can't say that others might not like it (goodness knows it got good reviews). Seriously, though, since you're a fan of true crime it might hit you like it did me (similar to the feelings I had for the movie Seven, which was great until the END).

i'll save it for a library read then

Wow in regards to the old lady. I would say just watch for it on the market (if they would do that) to see the costs.

And as for the students, do they REALLY thing that they are going to get a job/keep a job with that kind of attitude? Cripes.

thanks since it's literally next door to my job, I can keep a close eye on it.

Oh i have no idea what they're thinking. They honestly assume we'll bend to THEIR needs

I have had that issue with novels before. or read the first of a trilogy and love it, the second book making me cock my head, and the third making me throw it across the room in disgust.

yeah.

So, are you gonna find out about the YELLOW house?

yeah that's annoying too

yes i am and then find out how much to side that wood house

Make the siding part of the mortgage. :D

if the house is remotely affordable working in cutting down the three trees of doom and putting up siding (I do not trust wood houses) would be key

Three trees of doom and siding. :D

I don't blame you; I like siding, myself.

now if only i could afford that victorian siding.

mom still wants me to buy the monstrosity that was leaking thru the room offer them 20K and put another 60K into it and then i'd have a massive wonderful house...

Well, you know, that isn't a BAD idea. Except for the mold you'd have to rip out from the leaks in the roof.

if that's all it woudl take to fix it i'd do it but...

and yes that too but it didn't smell of mold...yet

Well, you know.

Mold's tricky.

indeed but given my allergy to it i react without actual touching. I was okay but surely that will not last

From: [identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com
Yes, definitely.

I remember Atty's house, that was mold-ridden and she sent me over to do something there, and I nearly died.

yeah Wood Hall on campus is like that

I'm really surprised that just spraying the place liberally with apple cider vinegar and water took care of the mold, at least everywhere but the basement.

It worked, and it didn't stain the woodwork nor the wallpaper.

Neat trivia about that pic (which I didn't know about when I saw it on facebook). It's also my favorite time of year.

And, does this mean you still want/can get the house??

And, yes, I had a book I loved do that to me: "The Terror" by Dan Simmons. It was only a bad twist because I loathe mythology (esp when it suddenly takes over a historal science fiction novel)

yeah it's hard to put that in the tags for the photo on facebook

we shall see

right (though I might have liked that. I love mythology)
