And not just because my students are a bit slow on the uptake but before I tell you why, I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] dragonydreams ! I hope it was a good one.

So today I wanted to go to the Kohl's sale because 1) I had a 15% off everything card 2) I wanted to look for a particular style of dress and 3) they had 125$ drusy pendendants on sale for 49$. I got the bright idea before i drove an hour to chillicothe, that I'd call to be sure they still had them. I'm not even sure WHY quartz drusys are so damn expensive any more. They assured me they did and had sold several today alone. I also figure I could hit TJ Maxx and the halloween superstore.

I drive. NO Halloween store. Aw. I get to Kohls, once again they fail to have anything decent clothing wise. Its like they think anyone about size 8 wants nothing but sweats and jeans. Thanks. On the other hand, they had bras on sale. Bali's which is my favorite bra company. I found the size that fit me, C cup like normal and OMG I'm suddenly Shura. No kidding.

Photobucket

That's what the C cup looked like. I WEAR a C cup. WTF Bali? I was spilling out all over.

I go to get my drusy. They DO NOT HAVE THEM. THey NEVER had them. I was pissed. They had these tiny ones, the size of my finger nail that was 50$ normally but not the larger on sale one. They did have one beautiful one but it was 500$ and I am not paying that for quartz.

I went away unhappy, bra-less, dress-less and drusy-less. TJ had nothing so I had dinner and sulked home in the rain. Guess what? The Renn fest is this weekend with at least four primo jewelry vendors. I'll spend my money there.

Keeping u p the booze report. In my make your own 6 pack was a ginger-apple hard cider by Angry Orchard which had a great logo. Honestly, the ginger was merely whispered in. It wasn't any better than Strongbow or Woodchuck ciders. That said, it was tasty and if it was the same price, it's worth the buy. If this is more than they are wholesale, I wasn't that overwhelmed.

Also THANK YOU to those who gave me interview questions for paranormal authors. If you want to ask some paranormal erotica writers some questions go here and leave me some. I have a few takers. I really hope to see some of you go and talk to them (I'll announce when it is). One author told me I'm the hottest link out on his blog (that made my day) AND the author I'm fangirling over wants to do this so I'm thrilled. Seriously, I really liked her shifter story which actually had no sex in it and probably should have been picked up by any big name urban fantasy imprint but you know, gay detectives so....(though I'm assuming later books do have the sexy times).

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

I honestly have the same problem with Bali but I can't wear underwire. Maidenform is a bit better but honestly I don't think bra companies know what to do with women who have C cups and up.

No kidding. I always buy Bali. I've never had this problem before. I swear it was mislabeled.

this is also true. Which is why i've always found women's clothing sizes utterly frustrating. They are arbitrary. Right now I'm praying the dress I just bought from Roamans will fit without being too large. If I bought this same size in Macy's I probably couldn't get half my body into it

Hopefully it fits. Well I never can find good pants for curvy girls either. Usually there are all for girls who have straight hips.

I still want to know why men's pants fit me better than women's pants, in my opinion.

Bras...I just go and hope for the best. Sigh. There was a huge article the other day that "Women are all wearing the wrong size bras!" Well, duh. But if clothing sizes all matched, it'd help (why can I fit into an 8 in one brand of clothes, and a size 16 in another, and the clothes are the same size???).

oh lord not on me not at all. men's pants are all the wrong cut.

that's what i was saying to geeky_ramblings clothes are SO arbitrary

I always try to buy men's shorts, because they fit better than women's (plus, the legs are often longer, as I hate the idea of wearing any pair of shorts that ends above my knees, like women's shorts generally do). Men's pants pants are harder for me to find because I'm short, but they generally fit better, unless the women's are hip huggers.

Clothing size is so very arbitrary. I blame it on Americans getting fatter, personally - I can imagine a woman screaming she'd worn the same size since high school, why can't she fit into it now?, and the clothes manufacturers taking heed. Which is why I can now fit into a size 8, when I couldn't at my lowest weight.

my experience is the opposite. My weight is stable and yet i keep needing to buy BIGGER sizes each and every time I go.

I know I'm around 150, but when I was 110, I still couldn't fit into anything smaller than an 11/12. Now I'm wearing 8/10 to 16. Go fig.

and there should be NO reason for a range that wide. it's mindboggling.

also i thi nk the laundromat's 'cold' wash was hot as hell because my skirt is tight and i know i haven't gained weight.

No, there shouldn't be. It's so bizarre.

Eww to the 'cold'. Can you stretch your skirt out again?

I had the same problem at Target. All of the D cups fit me like Shura's top (and of course a store like that doesn't carry much in larger cups - I need a 32 band).
