this pathophysiology class (which is making me insane as it's brand new and I'm rushing to make notes), I think this semester might want me to put my head in the oven. At least this class pays attention and doesn't make me think I'm trying to teach brain damaged gibbons. As someone said last night, they would kill for the chance to go to school and all I see is people squandering their opportunities.

In happier news, I'm that much closer to finishing Kept Tears (my scarred soldier story) I'll have to go back and change Iraqi to Afghanistan (because Aaron insists that's where he was). I need another 3500 to break into novel range. I should be able to do it. Edits alone should get me that much.

Now to get back to getting that story ready to send to Harper Voyager. And again if you want on (or off) the original fiction filter let me know

It is. It's nothing like when I went to college. That was a whole other time. Granted I'm part of the ME generation and we created this new nightmare generation. I mean even a decade ago when I went back for a second upper level degree it wasn't THIS bad.

Your students scare me. How much of it is the area where they live, though, including upbringing? I remember trying to talk to my welfare clients about attending school and trying to make something of themselves and of about 300 people I spoke to, I can think of only about 10 who really made use of the program.

I also agree with Afghanistan. Definitely. It was nasty in Iraq, NASTY from the injuries suffered there, but Afghanistan is way way way more deeply entrenched and "into" I.E.D.s.
