That Obama will be here in Athens tomorrow? No, I'm not going. (I have friends who are) I don't touch politics with a ten foot pole. Seriously, so don't be offended if I don't comment on your political rants. I'll be honest, I rarely read them even if it's probably something I'd agree with. Frankly I wish it was already the end of November and I'm so very disappointed in WV (which I get my local tv) THere isn't a single NON Republican ad on the local stations.

Teaching my pathophysiology class is like teaching grad school. For the most part they want to be there and they are better students. This class will discuss things with me. What a change from the first year allied health anatomy that stare at me with dead eyes.

And in good news, my local nano group is SO excited that nano is in 2 weeks that they're lighting up our facebook group. It's stoking me

Oh my... I'm so glad you have a class that listens and WORKS!

It's confirmed. Dr. Keenan is awesome, but teaching at a waaaaay higher level than the other professors. This is ok. I love Content Area tutoring... Dan has tutored Keenan's students and has ALL the hand outs we get. AND he knows the EXTRA in depth stuff that we "get" to learn.

This is ok. If I don't DIE in his class, I will be awesome. Hell, 2 extra hours of work with HELP got me in the mindset to "speak" this foreign science language. A lot of my problem was being RIDICULOUSLY anxious about it.

that is really cool. Anxiety is not uncommon with this. I make test anxiety websites part of my class page to address some of that and give reminders that they are learning more words in anatomy than if they took Spanish so you can't wait until 2 days before the test to study

I was so freaked out in that class and feeling so alone and bizzaro that it would just FLOW around me, wash OVER me. I'm pretty sure that my pupils were dilated and I was fight-or-flight for the whole class for the last few weeks. NOT good.

I'm comfortable with languages. So learning a NEW one. Just because the book is WRITTEN in English doesn't mean it's ENGLISH! ;)

SO I re-framed my thoughts on it. I pop a Xanax pre class, which I DID NOT want to do. I feel like it's cheating even though it's prescribed in a low dose for me. (Up to 6 a day yo! If I get to that point, I'm running away from home.)

So getting up redonk early to NOT be in a hurry.
Frills. I feel much more comfortable in them, even with the one frill hating girl, and she's apparently "gotten over it". Especially since I SCHOOLED her butt on Vertebral bones etc etc during lab.
Xanax.

Having biology content around me/on me/near me as much as possible. Even if it's just quickly skimming notes or organizing them during let's say an Anime Syracuse event. I organized my notes and re-read everything, handouts included, since you can't STUDY if you don't have your stuff on you... or out and at the ready. ;)

Worked pretty well. (Also, the young-ins figured I was in NO mood for their crap.)

Ugh there is always ONE. I sat in a math class (to evaluate the prof) and two of the students are mine and one is me 25 years younger right down to the anime and dragons. and sure enough there was one girl giving her shit and I almost made a comment to the prof about it

some of the need schooled. My favorite is when the young un's who ain't got shit to do but study and party tell one of my older students who is a single parent, working 40 hours a week and STILL makes A's "wow, it must be nice to have time to study." I just stand back and let the non-trad disembowel the twits

Ehn, it's all good. Monday was "SKIN LECTURE". XD Tanning Bed orange shouldn't be a foundation color... but it is. ;)

My change in tactics and attitude is that NOTHING and NO ONE is going to get me down. I will NOT allow it to happen. (Even if said enemy is myself!)

Maybe my frills are like a "success headband". No idea, but I do know that rather than rising to Mom's bait, I'm more apt to pretend I didn't hear/wasn't listening/am too busy.

Because I am. I was knuckling under to her whims. I was putting studying and my mental health LAST. (BAD IDEA... I know where the latter got me.)

Thank you SO MUCH for your support in school. Seriously. Just knowing that I have people pulling for me is amazing. My sister and mother are waiting for me to crash and burn.
