Wedding Bells

cornerofmadnessNo, not for me but for one of my writer group members. They met during a nanowrimo write in. He proposed at our usual coffee house and today I went to her shower. I was honestly surprised to be invited. She only invited 2 others from the group. I guess I made an impression. She is the one who hooked me up with her granddaddy realtor trying to find me a house.
The wedding will be private but the shower was nice and relaxing really, just a day to sit and chat and play silly games (only 2 which was great). The food was vegeterian and the really neat thing from my POV was a) just how much hello kitty stuff exists (that's her theme kinda sorta that and Star Wars) and b) the construction of this church.
ELD I took you past this church it's just below the weeping angel cemetery we went to. DW is the pastor there so she'll be married in her own church by another of her pastor friends, many of whom where here. Anyhow, it's a big church (first disciple and I'd be lying if I said I knew the first thing about that denomination) and the whole basement was a maze of doors and hallways leading everywhere. DW told me even she hadn't been in them all yet. I'd love to go wandering the church for a few hours just to poke my nose everywhere.
I hit the over priced pizza place later for dinner (i like the artisans pizzas but seriously it's $$$) and Krogers for another pick your own six pack to take to mom for christmas
Speaking of Mom, she keeps telling people dec 15th. no matter what you're asking she answers it's happening on dec 15th. She is now paranoid. She's forbidden me to come home on that date (which WAS my travel plan) because she's convinced something is going to happen.
