Right? Then why do I keep feeling SO bad. My neighbor gave up Dingy and I took the cat into the vet. I've never been able to get a good look at Dinghy's private area so I was never sure if it was a girl or boy but I was hoping for the latter but when that belly full of worms looked bigger this week I feared the worse. I Swear I didn't know that she was pregnant when I took her in to the vet to be surrendered. For god's sake she doesn't even have all her own teeth yet. The vet was out on farm calls so the tech didn't want to take her. They talked and wanted me to give her to Perennial cat shelter. I said I can't. 1. it's about a 2-3 week waiting period 2. They are now full 3. I think they make exceptions for pregnant females but I don't have another 50$ to donate for a cat that isn't even mine. I'll have to put her out on the porch and let her have her babies there just like Soul and Kanda's mom did. The vet tech's eyes widened. THEY WANT WHAT TO SURRENDER A CAT??? I said that's pretty standard nowadays. So the vet tech made a command decision. I bring in food, she'd keep Dingy and the babies. I'll take it there tomorrow but I'm embarrassed to even go back. I should have known she was pregnant (but god, what would I have done then if I had known?) I feel like I stuck my vet with my problem. Sigh.
I came home and was too listless to clean so I ran to Jackson for the food and got some stuff (then forgot to stop for the damn gift cards for the holidays) I did give the community coupon poolat the library a bunch. Some Indian lady was there doing the same, never saw her before which I would since this place is so very white....Then went to Big Lots for tape and stickers and junk and found a plastic coupon holder and the cashier is like I never find time to do this and the lady before me sniffed and looked down her nose at me and said 'It's not worth my time.' Well I was just not in the mood so I shot back, for twenty minutes of clipping coupons I save between 10-30 $ a week, my time's worth that. Out in the parking lot a dirty, thin yellow lab wanted to come up to me but ran. At least the pound would have taken him. I got home and was getting the stuff out of the trunk and a familiar head bonk to the back to the leg happened. For a moment I thought Roy had returned but now it was a ginger tom (fully intact) I think he was there for Dingy since he was clean and well fed. I sent him on his way and told the universe to stop laughing at me. No lie, stood there in the damn parking lot and told that to the sky. My neighbors are probably locking their doors, thinking I've lost it.
In good news, I DID finish my edits for my vampire short story and sent it back to the publisher. At least I accomplished that much.
Also let me geek out a little bit about it being 12/12/12
And check this out free Christmas music from Amazon. How fun

Date: 2012-12-13 01:55 pm (UTC)Not so. The cat isn’t yours, so you have nothing to feel bad about. In fact, you’ve gone out of your way to help her, and I don’t think anyone could have asked for more from you. She should get good care where she is, certainly a lot better than running wild.
Stop worrying!

Date: 2012-12-13 02:15 pm (UTC)Last year, I fostered a rabbit through the winter, and this year, it looks like I'll be fostering a stray cat. I just hope it's male so I don't have to worry about kittens, too. :-(
