Mom and I went to the Hobbit (click here if you don't want to wait for the round up in feb). I enjoyed it very much. Mom kept leaning over going 'that dwarf (Kili) is hot.' Yes Mom, he totally is. I suspect this would be a much different movie if Mom had been directing it.

I gathered up all the holiday crap. I have NO idea how this is all fitting in my car. Not at all. There is SO. Much. Stuff. Even if it fits, I'm not sure how it's all getting out of the car (some might not, at least not tomorrow) and if it does that, WHERE in my apt is it going? I need a bigger place

Speaking of which I found 2 in Albany (which is near Athens) that might work. Honestly I like the the yellow shack better. It looks like hell on the outside and has more land than I need. it's 28 miles from work and for some reason 22 from Athens. I like the garden and the fireplace but it IS very isolated which is good and bad.

the gray shack is probably the better. it's 33 miles from work and 12 from Athens. It looks sturdier but I would be better off in a ranch. I can't exactly google earth this but the little community it is in doesn't look too bad.

I've learned that unlike LJ DW will not let you answer things if you're not logged in. Fine. But KEEP me logged in you piece of crap journal. I'll be doing things and then suddenly it logs me out and says I have the wrong password. It was fine a minute ago. Sigh. But I did (with several log ins) manage to read all my fandom stocking stuff. I did well this year. There is FMA and Star Trek and someone directly sent me a Dogs story. my stocking and the Dogs story

That first house is really nice but yeah, the whole 15 acres is a lot if you're really not going to do much. Unless you have this sudden urge to become the super crazy cat lady and make it a kitty haven for as much as they are drawn to you.

Second one is nice too. Maybe it's because there is nothing inside that all the rooms look insanely huge.

I would probably keep about half the acreage and sell (if possible) the rest.

the second house is pretty interesting where it's set. You can kinda google earth the address

I remember the Yellow Shack. I liked it the first time, and still do. With that kind of acreage you could have a truck farm and keep some chickens. The gray house would be more attractive if it wasn't so hodge-podgy (and some of the wall treatments were less alarmingly ugly).

Hot dwarves is just wrong, somehow. I'm sure Kili improves the landscape, though, and I'm all for that.

Yes I agree about the yellow shack. I have to assume it has issues due to the cost. Yeah the gray house is going to need an extra 10K just so I can remodel the scary-ass interior

Hot dwarves are very wrong. I noticed that the 3 hottest dwarves (Kili, Fili and Thorin) have short barely there beards (also wrong but appreciated since I don't go for beards) and are taller.

Also I want to know are they REALLY finding this many pretty androgynous men for the elves or is it movie magic

Mom is right; that Kili dwarf is HOT! ;p

I kinda like the bigger grey shack. XD

I have a DW journal, but I haven't really used it that much. ^^;

Yes mom is definitely not wrong

It's not a bad house, less private than I want but not as bad as in Jackson

ditto.

;p

*nods* I like it cuz it looks bigger than the other one. I grew where your neighbors are right on top of you, so that doesn't worry me that much. XD

:D

It surely has to be bigger.

See that freaks me the hell out. I grew up in the country and while I've lived most of my adult life in apartments I do not like having neighbors close

Yeah? I grew up in the suburbs, Peeps are close, but you never really see anyone outside. I've never lived in a apartment, so I have no clue what that's like. XD

See around here there is country or in the city with your neighbors too close. THe gray house is in what passes for a suburb here.

well to give you a hint, when I got back tonight I could hear my neighbors screaming thru the wall

From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
Aaah... Here where I am, you could easily park a car & the neighbor's car side by side between our houses. So they're not that close. ;p And you cna only hear the pone neighbor's kids when they're outside in the summer, cuz the window's open.

So not nice. ^^;

yeah see that might be okay but when i can stretch out my arms and touch both houses that's a problem for me

*nods* That is CLOSE. o.0 I don't think I'd like that either. ^^;

my real issue here is tht it's that or it's out in the country but with propane tanks. The friend who passed, the house he let me stay in had one and that did not go well

Aaah... the idea of propane tanks kinda scares me. ^^;

yes me too and it was very costly to fill (probably not moreso than any other utility but you have to remember to budget for it since it's not every month)

Date: 2013-01-10 04:43 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
*nods* Yeah? We're on a gas line, so we always have fuel. I guess they come with a truck & replace them every other month?

Date: 2013-01-10 04:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
whenever they get closer to empty. I can't remember what [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog and I did in FL with the one for her place. It might have been monthly. The one in WI was a budget breaker since it was routinely below zero and the house was poorly insulated with old windows.

Date: 2013-01-10 09:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
Aaah... Most, if not all the homes here have gas, so you rarely, if ever, see an oil truck making a delivery. I have no idea when they would come. XD That stinks! XD

Date: 2013-01-10 09:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
here it's propane gas or electric. In the city you get natural gas and the rare (and expensive) oil house.

Mine here is electric and badly insulated. I pay a ton to heat/cool this apt.

Date: 2013-01-11 12:26 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
You can get electric here in certain areas too. *nods* Which is what we mostly have here.

hahahaha me either. Though I like them prettier than ruggedly handsome so Kili and a couple of those elves for me

I've seen the advertising illos, and it amused me.

Have a safe trip back to Ohio. Good luck with loading all the stuff in Naru. And you could always leave Kanda behind, that'll give you some room.

I like both houses, actually, but. Yeah, the yellow one looks a bit iffy on the exterior. Maybe that's supposed to dissuade people from coming closer, because what could be inside something that looked like that? :D

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Mom still thinks he's hot

mom got it all in the trunk. do not ask me how

the yellow one is scary looking on the outside. What bothers me a littleis that Meigs County is home to Meigs County Gold (marijuana) which that far out I could be in trouble

I'm sure she does. She's not the only one.

TETRIS LIVES.

Hmmmmmmm.

That might be why that place kinda looks the way it does...?

As much as I love Aidan Turner, it did get on my nerves a bit that he looked so much like himself. Richard Armitage, while very hot as Thorin, doesn't look like his everyday self in the movie.

The yellow house would certainly need a lot of work outside the house. It looked to be a bit of a mess.

Date: 2013-01-10 02:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Yes, Aidan Turner definitely didn't look dwarfy enough.

It is a mess outside but it's hard to tell from the pictures how much of it is the house itself and how much is the gardens that seem to start right at the back door
