doubled over in burning pain I remembered that I stayed out in a snow storm yesterday to be sure I had my nexium but I didn't put it IN my damn pill box. In 12 hours without it I brought up enough acid to scar my lungs and throat.

But what does stomach doc guy do? 'Didn't you take that pill I prescribed last year?'

No my insurance freaked out.

Here try again with your new insurance and take tums....oh and here's a pill for nausea....

Okay fine, I'll try the new pill but if the nausea comes back I'm getting a different doc. So I have to drive 100 miles to get to a new practice. So Be It. I really don't think this guy is even trying (he's in that not quite ready to retire but not feeling like doing shit zone). He told me I'd have to take to the surgeon about my other questions. (also beginning to wonder if he even does the endoscopies any more. he did mine 7 years ago and it probably needs redoing)

But my god, note to self Do. Not Forget Your. Proton Pump Inhibitor.

Someone come find my muse for me please....

i'll be better once the nexium kicked in. IT's a life long issue but flare ups like this suck

That's good to hear, but still... it's awful you have to wait for it to do so, not to mention this doctor sounds like he should just up & retire already. ^^;

I hope you don't have to deal with another one for a LONG time. *huggles*

I have one of those lacy shirts. It's almost 1600 Musketeer type wear. I lost weight, and it drapes over me like a shroud.

Thanks heaps, Doc.

yeah he doesn't impress me. I always end up in the last apt of the day I feel like he just wants me to go away so he can go home.

That's terrible! It's important to have a doctor you feel comfortable with & this guy can't even be bothered to make you feel like you're worth his time & effort.

yes and this is the second (and last) time. Now if the pill works, fine. if it doesn't I WILL drive to Columbus or Huntington to see someone else

Never-mind studies and a nutritional overhaul instead of or WITH pills.

I think I dislike your doctor. YES, medications are great. But just saying, "HERE, take this!"

Really??

yeah that's all he did. You'd think he'd jump at the chance to bill for an endoscopy. he didn't even make a follow up (for the second time) He has no interest in having me as a patient. I'll take the pills for a month or two until the weather is nice enough to drive all the way to Columbus or Huntington

Wow, that doctor is totally incompetent. Yes, you have to drive but it's better than a doctor who is all 'meh' about doing his job. Sheesh.

The roomie has RLS and after the third time of her former doctor acting like it wasn't a real medical condition, she dumped him at the curb.

Hope you feel better soon. That sounds like it really sucks.

It will be, along with some shoes and other stuff. I plan to go through my clothes semi-soon so I can make a large deposit. Trying to figure out what to do with my t-shirts. So many are still in good shape, and 20-30 years old.

yeah that's what I've been doing. I have a laundry bag filled now and will have to start a new one.

things like those shirts I hold on to. Call me sentimental.

well not incompetent, more of a pill pusher than anything. Changing my meds is a legitimate move but his trying to rush me out with barely listening to me, not so much.

Oh, I won't be tossing the t-shirts. I'm wondering if I should make a quilt out of them or something.

Date: 2013-02-06 10:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
that is MY plan but a) I've never made a quilt and don't know where to begin b) am lazy

Date: 2013-02-07 12:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com
Actually, that kind of quilt is pretty easy to do. You make a template of cardboard the size you want to cover the pattern in the t-shirt, cut that out (be sure to leave selvedge), and then you get some of that denim ribbon or whatever from one of the craft stores, sew a checkerboard, then put a backing on it. You don't even have to put any quilt batting in it, if you don't want. Whether you do or not, you would anchor the top to the bottom with cross stitches or a yarn tuft or something at the intersection of each of the checkerboards.

I've seen one of these done, and it was very cool. The hard part, of course, is sewing the stretchy t-shirt material to the denim ribbon.

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
yes I was warned about sewing the stretchy t-shirt to the denim ribbon before by AS. My other thought was I have so many I'd like to save it would be a BIG quilt
