there is nothing silly

about my blood sugar. Okay I thought yesterday's insanely high sugar was maybe related to my lunch but I got it down to 150 before I went to bed. This morning it was almost 400 when I woke up. I'm supposed to go to the hospital when it's that high. Screw that. All they do is give me insulin (well they do more but that's the bulk of it and my doc knows I'm a doc so he's okay with me not going in). I gave myself a buttload of insulin, took my meter and my insulin to work, told the students to watch out for hypoglycemia and on we went. I was okay.

I'm so drained though.

I DID have a fun silly moment. On the podium today was BLACK chalk. I didn't even know that existed. I squealed and started writing with it. The students laughed.

Some of them also noticed even before I told them that something was wrong with me and were concerned which is sweet.

I completely forgot my writers group. Oops. I still have other things to do before I get to that. Tonight I better get my novel completely edited thru or I'm going to be SO disappointed in myself.

I was looking at the trailer for Jack the Giant Slayer thinking 'hmmm he looks a little like Connor.' 'Hmmm he's cute.' 'hmmm I really DO like androgynous men.'

Yeah. I'm kind of interesting in seeing Jack the Giant Slayer. I saw the actor on Conan the other night. He also played R, the zombie in Warm Bodies.

And at least your students can be observant and caring.

green ones in one building (where the black chalk was) and real black ones in my usual room, though I usually use my smartboard now
