I already bought nearly a dozen books back on Thursday at the library book sale. It's still going on.

Logic Me - DO NOT LOOK

Addict me - I'm just walking past to go get a drink.

Logic Me - LIAR

Addict Me - Come on, it's 3 hard covers for a dollar and 5 paper backs for the same.

Logic Me - You have NOT read any of the books you purchased at the last 4 library book sales.

Addict Me - But but but

Logic Me - No buts. In fact, didn't you make a New Year's resolution no more reading library books until you've read books you own? For the second time??

Addict Me - Yeah, but

Logic Me - Didn't you just return three books to this library three seconds ago, promise breaker?

Addict me - Yeah but come on, you can't expect me to buy Bleach? That series would be over 500$ and counting. OOOOO look, you love this series!

Logic Me - PUT IT DOWN

Addict Me - No, it's in my hand, it's MINE. I can't put it back now. OOOOO lookee, Diane Wynn Jones you never even heard of. She's passed on, you'll never get another chance. I might need another bag.

Logic Me - You pick up a bag and I'm popping a blood vessel in your brain here and now

Addict ME - Come on, I have three hardbacks already and look, I love this series too. Oh wait, no. Looks like this came out of a basement. It's foxed and has cobwebs on it. EWWWWW.

Logic Me - put it back

Addict me - WEBS! They're on me.

Logic Me - Serves you right. Now stop at three.

Addict Me - FINE. Bitch.

Logic Me - Tell all the fine people reading this where you're storing your books now because there's no room left in your place?

Addict Me - Shut up.

Logic Me - Is that a plastic bin of books in your back seat I see? Is Naru's trunk stuffed with two bags of books and there's barely room for groceries.

Addict Me - these three will fit UNDER a seat right? Flings a dollar at the librarian. It helps the library stay alive!

Logic Me - sigh. Idiot.



Also I'm glad Mom and Dad didn't come. Not sure if it was a bout of IBS or bad chicken from Bob Evans but I woke up at around 430AM with cramps and the runs. I've been up ever since. it took until noon before I felt brave enough to wander away from the toilet and up to do laundry/hit the library. It would have been an unfun day for all had they been here.

I have had that conversation with myself many times. It's why I'm not supposed to buy books - unless it's by a favorite author or I'm already reading the series. Someone I still sometimes acquire the free books at work even though I have dozens waiting to be read at home.

Your logic you/addict you sounds amazingly like mine. I didn't get to the last day of our library's sale today, but I did buy five books on Tuesday. /eyes teetering pile of books with the five added precariously on top/

it's a shameful addiction but you just don't want to stop. One day I'll be found dead under a tower of books (it nearly took out the cat last night. speaking of which I added photos)

Speaking of which, poor thing seems to be suffering from the post-shot malaise. He's curled up so tightly in his little cube I didn't even know he was there until he meeped at me when I went out to pick up his empty food dish.

OH, man, I am so with addict you/logic you on the books thing (also, in my case, the DVDs thing, as I've got a small pile of things I haven't watched yet over there, too). In fact, I went to the used bookstore today after a shelf weed firmly intending not to come back with anything -- except they had a copy of the 2nd HTTYD book and X2 on DVD, which I've wanted forever. Sigh.

BTW, can I post the dialogue bit over on metaquotes? I know about eight different people who would totally be ROFLing along with me ...
