Writerly Way and other things
Apr. 21st, 2013 10:33 pmMostly other things to be honest. I'm so brain dead that I can't form a cogent writing blog post this week but I DID want to thank the people on my original fiction filter. Your input is so very helpful. At some point, all writers must get their work to the eyes of a first reader. For some of us (not me) that won't come until the story has been completely written and rewritten a couple of times. For others (me) it's as soon as it flies from the pen into the read world outside their head.
Writers groups, beta readers, something is needed to help find the holes you're blind to. I'm lucky to have you guys so thank you.
And since it's been a long time here are the current counts
Camp Nano -
and the yearly count
The rest of the day was pretty much wasted thanks to high sugar. I did get fridge cleaned and managed to not notice the garbage bag was open as I wheeled it to the dumpster. That was a fun mess to clean.
I'm quickly learning that I'm RUSTY at research papers. I haven't written one since the vampire one I did in class and that was easy. This one is killing me.
And here are just some really amazing links.
Okay not amazing but you might want to know what I'm doing for The Day of Silence and pride week on campus
Thanks to Wil Wheaton - how Disney animates using live actors
inspirational and yet heartbreaking photography and do check out the rest of his work. He seems to do a lot with people with disabilities. I'm entranced by the gay couple with the wheelchair.
havocmangawip I think you'd really be fascinated by some of this.
And maybe this. I'm adding this to my lecture. guess what this is
music to write to. Fun! Thanks to ES for this one.
And thanks to
ishte for this. I know how bad my picture would have looked like had I described it. This gives you something to think about.

Date: 2013-04-23 05:03 pm (UTC)Ohio is rude. I've lived here 3 different times. I've never liked it and now i'm stuck

Date: 2013-04-24 11:02 am (UTC)It's funny, the Ohio show is the only one where I see people with drinks (both mixed and beer) by ten a.m.
In a few weeks I have to drive back - well not to Ohio, I'll be stopping in Pitt but still.
I've always wanted to ask where you teach.

Sausage was my war pony I guess - I will probably always miss her.

Date: 2013-04-30 10:52 am (UTC)She was an interesting horse to say the least. Brave and mean but with a big heart.
The funny thing is I find I can mostly put the pain out of my mind - well now I can. I had years of mental training to do it.
