Writerly Ways
Apr. 28th, 2013 11:14 pmA two-part one in fact. You can find the first one about staying true to your character here
As for the rest of it, let me say how lucky and happy I am to be a very flexible writer. I can write in nearly any conditions. I don't need absolute silence or really much of anything. That came into play today at the camp nano write in. It's finals week for Ohio University so our usual coffee house was packed. All two floors of it ANd the patio ANd the balcony. Our usual diner also packed. We head for Fluff bakery. Baked. We go across the street to the mostly abandoned mini mall that has nothing in it but a church (luckily closed), a Verizon store and a fast food Chinese place that must be good judging by the sheer amount of Asian students in it. It had some tables and chairs and we wrote there for a long time watching the people in and out of the restaurant. No one went into the Verizon store that I could tell and yet, I got a lot of writing done.
Finally we had to go try another venue since there were no outlets and the laptops were dying. We ended up outside on the sidewalk of the Donkey (there is an outdoor plug) coffee house (our usual place). I know some people who would be incapable of writing sitting next to the highway. Not me. I'm fine.
And that's when I realized how lucky I am.
Also in debating where to eat, ML took me to Habibi which had big big gyros. OMG yum.
Today was very hard getting up. Mow my sugar is high and I'm wasted. but I had a good day out.
And for no reason whatsoever have a picture of Nathan Fillion kissing Wil Wheaton
Camp Nano (let's raise it a final time)
Yearly Count
