The way to start the day

is with the orthopedic surgeon loving on the book you're reading, The Drunken Botanist by Amy Stewart (which is getting kudos so far). He told me that my rotator cuff isn't torn but there is a massive spur sawing into it that, if I don't address it soon, will end up like the other side which was major surgery. trying to see if I can do this in Pittsburgh in June and have my brother do the PT. Otherwise Mom will have to come here and her and I in small spaces equals fight fight fight. I explained this to her and her first words were great I'll come down there and start throwing some of your shit out.

This is why you can't come, Mom.

I'm tired of this. I'm juggling nearly a half dozen chronic illnesses but at least arthritis can be combated. I am tired though, literally. I think my allergies are keeping me from sleeping soundly.

I did get to freak out the students. after the lidocaine wore off in the steroid shot he put in my shoulder with his monster needle (seriously if you're afraid of needles never look at the ones we use to get shit into your joints) and I couldn't lift my arm so I picked up the chalk and wrote left handed. BUT BUT It's as good as you're right hand!' Yes, I know. I'm ambidextrous.

I got my glasses adjusted. IT was a big help.

I know I've been in this place too long. I'm eating beef jerky, beer chips (which sadly don't taste like beer but are a good kettle chip) and drinking beer infused with hemp seeds. Yeehaw, Redneckville.

things you want to write stories about...yesterday as I walked into the parking garage in Athens at 730 a young couple was coming out. She was wearing a short leopard print dress. He was wearing a white dress shirt and leopard print trousers and you had to wonder why...

I think I'm having rotator cuff problems as well... since it's soft tissue, do they do xrays to find out or what? and what do they do for spurs that isn't 'major surgery'?

x-rays first then MRI since X-rays only show bone.

arthroscopic surgery where they basically sand off the spur.

As an adult they have started injecting me face down, it's nice not seeing the needle but my anistheseoligist still stands at my head - all I can see is his jiggly bits.

I like the idea of the two decked out in 80's finery. Well, alright, just the prints - now if he had a hot pink metalic skinny tie...
