I'm proud of myself
May. 7th, 2013 11:10 pmI've sent my novel Kept Tears into the publisher. To learn more about it you can head here. Thanks once more to
evil_little_dog,
mamculuna and
havocmangawip because without yinz it wouldn't be half the novel it is. Thanks for everything.
Other than that, today was well a bust. I had to get up early to bleed into tubes and see my endocrinologist (okay the bleeding should have been last week but I didn't even know I had this apt). I got up at 7 and I was exhausted. As in more exhausted than when I went to bed. I get to the clinic (I don't normally go to this one) and after a half hour no one has taken my blood. I got without it since it wouldn't help at this point. The PA was very surprised about my insulin resistance stories but nothing really comes of it other than he calls down to that lab. They were looking for me before I even got downstairs. I hate the phleb lab at Holzer (and this is worse than the one in Gallipolis) They act like the people aren't even there. THey never stop their whining about their lives the whole time someone in their seats...
Since I had taken a survey at Sonics and received a free Route 44 for my trouble, I wanted to get that. But it's only 10 a.m and I forgot that they do breakfast because I'm SO TIRED. I went to the library and puttered around there. It took 45 minutes to do that because of how exhausted I was. I went to Krogers to get the stuff to make a strawberry tart for the potluck at work. I'm half asleep on the cart rolling around but awake enough to realize wait a minute strawberries = 4$, pie crust because I don't have time to make my own =2.50$, apricot preserves =3$, whipped cream = 2.50$. That means the tart would be one expensive tart. Mini frozen eclairs 5$, 30 servings? SOLD. I'm giving tests thru the whole potluck any how.
I get to Sonics and order my lunch. I didn't even know what a Route 44 was. Have I mentioned I don't do drinks at restaurants? I get water. I have tried Sonics drinks before because they sound so good. TUrns out the Route 44 is a serving size...apparently 44 ounces of liquid. holy hell. I get a mango tea. So, either Sonics flavoring is just bad or I'm SO unused to flavorings period, they have disappointed me time and again. It just tasted like manga kinda with a chemical chaser. I'm STILL drinking this 12 hours later. Geez.
I wasn't going to eat until I had a nap. Changed my mind. Took an hour's nap and woke up even more exhausted and disoriented. Finally felt almost human at 5 pm. perfect. I don't know what this complete exhaustion is about. Maybe the blood test will tell me.
Either way I'm reveling in my accomplishment for the day.
no declutter. I was too wiped.
I want this dress like mad. Yes it's insanely girly but I still want it. The down side of Pyramid Collection, NO sales until they run out of everything but XS and S and so expensive (and sometimes things aren't as well made as you'd like).
and I WON this dress from Holy Clothing. What do you think? I'm thinking the jade green or the burgundy wine.
BEST COMMERCIAL EVER
and if you want to know what Leonard is singing in the commercial. Well here you go. Ah, the drugs they smoked back then.

Date: 2013-05-08 02:22 pm (UTC)We have a few like that at my lab, sadly. It drives me nuts. And the f'ing cel phones! You are at work, do NOT take your cel out where the patients are unless you need it for emergencies (ie: sick kid/parent). Yes, I take my iPad to work... only because it has music on it (for some reason, the radio stations don't play stuff like Mojo Nixon's "I'm Living With a Three Foot Antichrist".)
I have to admit, I have never eaten at a Sonic.
OK. I was going to start quizzing you about your lab work. Rolls eyes. Not like you can't figure those out on your own. I volunteer for weird stuff, though.
OH! Totally unrelated but you'll like: the lab is looking at new hematology analyzers. The one we're test driving now can detect malaria. Seriously, the machine looks at cells with five different scatter rays and it can find malaria parasites. AWESOME! OK. Yeah. Not going to be something we need in PA, USA, but it's still neat!

Date: 2013-05-08 02:33 pm (UTC)It's one of the few fast food places I'll eat it.
when I know I'll tell you. And that is really cool about the malaria

Date: 2013-05-08 06:56 pm (UTC)Okay so it's not me. I haven't tried a milkshake because of lactose intolerance and well the whole diabetes thing but I want to get a little one.
isn't that commerical grand?
Thanks, it's a lovely dress. The other is a bit pale for me as well but I have a thing for 1900s-120s dresses

Date: 2013-05-08 07:04 pm (UTC)Picking a color is insanely optimistic of you, by the way, after your last experience.
That is such a pretty aqua dress, but $120, ouch! Pyramid and Victorian Trading Co. both have dresses I covet, but even the sales aren't cheap enough for me to buy, essentially, fantasy apparel. On the other hand, if the sale sizes were "only" the XS and S sizes, that would be fine by me. Anything on sale that I actually want is invariably available in XXL and nothing else. Clearly, there's some perverse, inverse cosmic strangeness at work here.
Maybe your tiredness is heat lethargy? The weather column in my local paper says the Columbus area is supposed to get up close to 80, which I believe is pretty much your cut-off as far as being functional. Could be worse--we're going for 90 tomorrow down here. You would be dead.

Date: 2013-05-08 08:43 pm (UTC)and yes I know it is. I'll ask for jade green and watch me get that pale one.
I hear you and apparently plus size women have no issues plunked down that cost because there's rarely a plus size left when they DO have a sale (though if I was in an area that had an active steam/disel punk life I'd do it because by the time I made it would nearly cost me this much)
some of it is heat. It was 80 last week though this week it's cooler a bit thankfully

Date: 2013-05-09 02:22 am (UTC)I mainly like cherry limeade, although the apple limeade was good, too, when they offered it. (Is Sonic plural there? It's singular here.)
YAY for submission!!!!!!!

Date: 2013-05-09 02:47 am (UTC)no it's singular. I was just exhausted beyond intelligence last night
