When one of the editors (who worked on my novella) wrote an actual email instead of a form one to say how happy she was to see something new from me in regards to last night's submission. I'm both shocked and pleased. It's one thing to have my friends tell me they're excited about the thing (It's not that I don't believe you. I know most of you will tell me when something isn't working) but it's a whole other when someone who sees dozens of new things a week seems excited.

Two finals down, one to go.

Southwest Airlines you get kudos for a). having a call center that didn't keep me on hold forever b) was not in India c) had a friendly and helpful person on the other end. I may book with you in spite of the open seating which I hate. Mom is still working on the details. I DO know I won't be staying at the con hotel. The MIrage backed out of giving us a big block of less expensive rooms. Let's just say that over Memorial Day weekend, I can stay at Harrah's all week for one night at the Mirage (really? 450$ no, just no).

HUGE shake up at work. Nothing I can talk about (nor directly impacts me negatively) but wow.

I need to email wildrider to see if she's ready to look at a couple chapters of the SF dystopia (and anyone else who might be interested).

I've been trying to watch Orphan Black. I have to admit, I think the actress does an amazing job with the role. Clones, murder, strong females, what's not to like...oddly almost everything. I'm not enjoying it. Here's the strange thing, she is pretty much what her character would be as a hard knock foster kid who got pregnant as a teen and has an abusive drug-dealing boyfriend. She's mistrustful. She'll screw over anyone but her flamboyantly gay foster brother and her daughter. This really feels true to the character. On the other hand I can't stand her. The only two characters I like is Science Clone girl and the gay boy (notice I can't remember anyone's name... not a good sign).

Yeah, that's my problem with Orphan Black - it's fantastically done, and the main character leaves me completely cold. :/

oh good. I thought it might be just me. I keep watching hoping that'll change but not so far. Also the sex scenes have been outright creepy

I'm intrigued enough by Orphan Black that I keep watching it, but yeah, there are some hateful characters. It just keeps me watching, though. (Not that I've watched last week's episode yet...)

oh cool. I did a search. Sean Patrick comes up 275 times on a search (i.e I have six years worth of Link on my computer) a few weren't Link, like a random ch 6&7 of something that wasn't ring of fire. You're better off sending me what you want me to look at in return.

Yeah, I don't know what to make of Orphan Black. (I just looked I've been so busy this last month I have 54 hours of crap recorded) I'll keep watching for now but if I don't get more invested, it's gone.

Yeah, my DVR's backed up to hell right now, too. I've missed a ton of Craig Ferguson episodes (not that losing talk shows is bad, but Craig's always funny).

I'm suddenly starting to actually think about the sequel to RoF again -- which leads into some of the stories I'm sending Link now...
