It's been one of those days that make you just wonder why you bother.

I start the computer in the morning after a night of terrible dreams.(I don't remember them all but I remember playing in the waves, hoping they'd drown me but they washed up somewhere rather feudal in nature and it was winter. The rest of the dreamscape was filled with these feudal soldiers torturing other soldiers with bull whips and cooking them alive. I don't even WANT to know what that was about) The computer has decided that my printer is NEW hardware and that it's drivers are NOT legal. It won't upload them. WTF? The printer is 6 months old. FInally had to systems restore to make them talk to each other. I then foolishly decided to take Microsoft up on it's security update. 34 minutes it said. Try 4 1/2 HOURS.

Did a lot of job trolling and realized the pay that's being offered, I'd be better off doing the same kind of temp work my mom's doing. Sigh. My favorite so far, the job on Monster that wanted science teachers and the pay scale was 26K plus some bennies, including housing...WITH your students. Oh please. That's a recipe for murder if ever I heard one.

Then I'm presented with a mundane puzzler. How can the meat in the plastic box in my garage (read secondary refrig) be frozen solid and yet the ice cream be liquid. Literally. I drank it.

Then I get the idea that it's not worth paying for a hair cut just to trim my bangs. Mom's a hairdresser in a former life. She's shown me how to do this. I can cut a straight line, I mean I was a surgeon after all. So I get out the scissors. I measure the bangs up. I allow for my natural curl and the mirror tells me the hair will still be in my eyes when I'm done with the cut. As soon as you hear the sntk of the blades you know you've made a mistake. Apparantly the mirror lied but hey the line is perfectly straight.

So as I'm consoling myself by drinking creme brulee Hagan Daas, and watching Law and ORder SVU, I see an ad for ER promising a 'ground breaking' new show that puts you in the body of a patient and you see the ER from HER pov. Ground breaking? Hello, M.A.S.H. did that in the 70's. A nearly 30 year old trick is NOT ground breaking. It's just sad that NBC thinks it's new.

**Hugs**

I don't know what was worse. Probably the liquid ice cream. I am hoping that tomorrow will be better for you than today was.

AW that just sucks. You have my heartfelt sympathy for that. I can only imagine that it is worse in the US than up here, and it can be pretty bad up here.

put it this way, if you added up ALL my student loans my monthly repayments are about 2000$. I make less than 500. I'm sure we all see the problem...unless of course you're a student loan officer and I imagine there's a special section of the afterlife roped off just for them

WTF??? I'd say you're kidding me but I know that you're not. Oh my god. And I thought I was going to have a nightmare with having to pay two different agencies. At least my payments will be feasible.

IN BC the student loans are split between the federal government paying for one semester and the provincial government for the second. And from the paperwork I've seen, it looks like my payments will be just over $100/month if that much because of my current salary.

I wish there was something that I could do for you.

Actually that's NOT the one I meant but you're right they did it with that one too. No, there's another one where the person is shot in the throat and you see the whole thing from the pov of him lying in the bed.

I'm just screwed. I owe almost a quarter of a million dollars. I'll never be able to pay it back. Pretty much my life as I know it is over. They'll default me. I'll never be able to inherit. I can conceivably never get a house or car loan or even be allowed to rent a place. And they'll garnish my wages until the debt is repaid.

That's horrible. What if you were to declare bankruptcy? Wouldn't that do something?

Nice icon by the way.

Nope. Student loans can't be dismissed.

Thanks I forget who did it but it's in my keywords.

That really sucks. In BC (I'm not sure about the rest of Canada) students can't declare bankruptcy until ten years after their last loan.

that sucks too but here, you can't do it all (dismiss loans, even withdisability. I tried. I'm partially disabled and 100% disabled for my job but unless I'm 100% disabled period they don't care

I don't get that attitude of making a former student poor like that.

True enough. I think that if the Canadian government could do that though they would. There's been a history of too many students defaulting on their loans up here, so they started making things stricter.

always. It was the same way in my medical practice. I lost a lot of priveledges and had three times the paperwork because of the jackasses who worked the system before me
