But I'm here baking my brains out. I had a shit night. I could NOT fall asleep (okay all the diner coffee had something to do with that) I finally fell asleep at 3 AM. WOke up an hour later with my brain racing and my arm killing me. (My whole arm is numb now not just the left side. SO my left hand is constant pins and needles and my right hand has been that way for 13 years. It gets very distracting some times). I couldn't fall asleep again until nearly 6. I'm functioning on about 3-4 hours sleep. bah.

But seriously I wish I were in COmicon. I never did get there, not once. One day. Of course I've been saying that since I was a teenager.

I did get to Jackson to do laundry. It was so hot in the Laundromat that by the time I got to the library I was a mess. A student spotted me (naturally) 'Hey doc, did you just get out of the shower?" he asks because my hair is THAT wet. I looked at him and lied "yes I did.' Truth, I sweated my entire head wet. The next person who tells me how great summer is gets a face full of head sweat.

I have to confess I now have a secret unhealthy obsession. Curse you Sonic's for coming up with the cheesy bacon pretzel dog. I can't stop eating these damn things. So here's a song to explain how I feel

It's details like those steps that bring a setting to life. I can't tell you how much stuff just like that I've hoarded away for my Frank Dollar stories--or how hard I had to dig in what obscure corners to turn it up. Persistence pays in doing research, and luck helps. I've found as many usable tidbits by accident as by actually looking for them.

I agree and since I suck at imagining things any more, finding them and having a visual helps me immensely. I'm still stunned at how few books on PIttsburgh in the 20's and 30s outside of the Steel industry
