Hit the farmers' market (a tad late) and I got some beautiful Indigo Rose tomatoes (picture to follow) which are bred to increase healthy flavonoids (bred not GMO). They are so pretty. I'm saving seeds. wish me luck. I got a pint of blackberries that are definitely wild (i.e. hard bits here and there, tart). I got fudge (bad CoM)
I picked up a pizza from a place I've been wanting to since I saw it written up last year. Avalanche Pizza I got the Godzilla. (I DID notice their awards are a decade old. I'll let you know. I haven't eaten it yet.
Also how to know you live RURAL. While at the fancy Krogers (as opposed to MY Krogers) the manager comes over the speaker to tell us they got lambs and goats from the 4 H club at the county faire and will have them butchered up in a day or two...
I went to visit some of the houses. Two I turned around before I got there because my GPS was taking me off the paved road. Nope. I'll wait on a realtor to be sure I'm even in the right spot (since my GPS made me turn around and then get right back on the way I was going...UM??) two my GPS said didn't exist.
So I found this one. It was a cute little white house in Albany. Here have a look:
Downtown (HA!) Albany
Now click the cut to see
Okay here's the house and its neighbor.

Not too hideous until you realize that just north of the yellow house is a construction turn around/resting spot for equipment.
Then here's the right hand neighbor.
Oh boy a Laundromat. Nothing like having the freaks in my yard
And my view...

WHY is there a DISH? Is that mine? Is there someone in that shack??
I wipe the tears of frustration from my face and push on.
I go and find the Stone front house It's kinda cute and hey it's right next door to Albany's tiny-assed library.
See? Cute.

and across the street.
abandon house

maybe abandoned? not sure
and my side yard

abandoned nursing home. Sweet
T_T
then I went looking for this one and my GPS said its number doesn't exist. must find this one (I like the purple rooms...save me) I LOVED the street it was one. Real homes. Not shit. And I got the phone number of a new housing development going up. They're probably out of my range but...
my tomatoes -
and you HAVE to see this. I don't even like puppets but this is fantastic. Thanks to ES for pointing it out.

Date: 2013-08-11 04:23 am (UTC)The purple house has two neighbors and then a church and a cemetery. I liked it out there.
Wonders if I could just buy everything around the stone house and knock it the hell down.

Date: 2013-08-11 04:35 am (UTC)I will look later at the shady realtors... I sure hope our people aren't doing that on the rentals, but there isn't MUCH to hide. (I MISS the hell out of the top flat in the Queen Ann!)
As for the undesirable neighbors? I'm sure someone knows someone who is prone to pyrotechnics. The owners would likely THANK their good fortune. *I so never said that. ;)*

Date: 2013-08-11 05:29 am (UTC)There's a thing in selling that once you are THERE you almost feel obligated to buy so if they hide the lousy surroundings and you're there...
Trust me burning a few of those places down....
