I woke up 100 times more exhausted than I was when I went to bed. I feel like I was up doing wind sprints in my sleep. My joints ache. I'm nauseated. I just feel bad. All my nurses are gross and snotty. I almost fell in lab I was so dizzy (it was lab. I don't miss lab unless I'm spewing or so dead nothing can move me). I started feeling a wee bit better by the end of the day (you know right before the call to loans and everything went to hell).

I'm rather hoping this is a secondary immune response reaction which means I'll be okay tomorrow. It's the god damn Mothman festival this weekend and I don't want to be too sick to go. I have priorities. This is going to be an awesome Autumn, you hear that Universe?

One of the authors on my list is doing a recipe call. I'm trying to figure out what are some of the dishes I do best. Hmmmm

Mom said I would love Sleepy Hollow. 'It's something YOU would have written.' I haven' had time to see it. Of course I'm in the 'I can't write worth shit' phase.

My anime group hunted me down today to make them all official :-)

Haven't watched Sleepy Hollow yet, I might find a video stream of it later tonight or tomorrow. Watched some clips and seems pretty interesting.

Sorry to year you're in a "can't write shit" phrase. I'm pretty much thinking that lately (wrote some of my Big Bang and then I was like "hate my words hate my words hate my words"). Hopefully the both of us will get out of that mindset soon.

I watched "Sleepy Hollow" because I'd heard Clancy Brown was going to be in it and I wanted to see what he looked like (having only heard him as a ubiquitous VA; turns out he looks a bit like Christopher Lee, huh.). I liked the guy playing Ichabod Crane, who's great with the snappy dialogue, but I thought the world-building was lazy -- I like secret history, but for Pete's sake pay attention to the actual history you're calquing on (e.g. witches weren't generally burned in the North American colonies; they were hung) -- and the climactic battle sequence had serious timing issues (one minute it's deep night; the next dawn is coming up -- somebody fire the editing team). I'll give it a few weeks to break in, though. Would be interested in your opinion, if you develop one ...

My second thought after "No, they hanged them, but I'll give you a pass on the absurdly high numbers because this is supposed to be a Weird Thing" was "Man, this is going to peeve off a lot of people I know in fandom." Further plusses: a pretty darn diverse main cast, at least initially, and the aversion of "Ethnic Guy Dies First" syndrome (two white guys bite it before the first ethnic death). io9 has a spoilerriffic recap over here (http://io9.com/heres-why-you-should-be-watching-sleepy-hollow-right-n-1333351664) that's a lot more enthusiastic about this one than I am, but clearly isn't side-eyeing the worldbuilding in the same way I am. (On the other hand, I heartily endorse the comment about the costume prank ...)
