DOS attacks, not just for LJ any more

THREE times in the last two weeks the school website and blackboard have fallen under attack thanks to DOS attacks on the servers. I had an online test to give today. I swear to god, these people need to be taken out back and beaten.

I thought I was otherwise having a good day. I felt better but MAN was I out of it yesterday. Not only did I leave my windows down in the car (it rained but luckily NOT into the car) I left my damn laptop right on my desk at work. So glad the new housekeeper doesn't have sticky fingers.

I was feeling tired though after a meeting and more than a little annoyed at L for being a bitch in the meeting. (i.e. if it doesn't directly deal with L and things she likes she throws fits. She is SO Sheldon). I thought it was just that my period had kicked in. No, I got home and found out my sugar was 500. I SHOULD have gone to the hospital but I have a test to give tomorrow and two more to get ready for Monday. I couldn't be put away. Besides they'd only give me insulin.

So I took insulin, it's under 200 now but I felt like I was dying (Okay, so I kinda was). I'm shaky now. I think it was the stress of these loans that did me in. I mean, it was the same lunch I eat all the time.


Kanda let me use him as a lap desk today as I watched Sleepy Hollow. I rather enjoyed it. Yes, it has problems (namely Crane's wife and her wtf era is that supposed to be dress) but I liked it. It'll die an early death no doubt.

Speaking of fake 1700s clothing, I want this Frock coat. Yes it's unreasonably priced and where would I wear it? But I want it. I'd have to lose a mess of weight to even begin to fit. I'll put it somewhere and look at it.

Also I saw people today on the author's list with new contracts and one knew when it would be out. I'm like huh? I don't know. I go back to the contract and somehow on the last page I totally looked past the fact my novel will be out Jan-Feb. Head desk. Well now I feel better about the edits not being here yet.

I watched Sleepy Hollow, and I don't know what to think of it. I was disturbed that they used the name of the town from Under the Dome and the name of a character from Harper's Island. That made it weird. It was like watching bad fanfic.

My theory on Katrina Crane's costumes is that one of the costume designers has a breast fetish and was really, really annoyed that the other principal female character is wearing a cop's uniform for the entire episode.

Well, I don't doubt that there's a real Chester's Mill, but also hearing the name Abby Mills in the same show was just a little off putting. Of course, I just checked IMDb and saw that the names are spelled a little different. It's Abby on Harper's Island and Abbie on Sleepy Hollow.
