Head Meet Desk Again
Mar. 1st, 2005 10:42 amSo I'm looking at my student loans the ones I'm ACTUALLY paying. (I have seven separate loans) And I forgot to pay the ones due last week so I open them up and the amounts are wrong. It says I didn't pay January and I'm thinking 'did so. in fact I paid for Dec/Jan together because I forgot Dec. And oh look the loan that I CAN defer is back in repayment with no warning. Huh, it says I owe 30.78 monthly but they're charging 135$. Hmmm, so I call my school and the loan advisor's like 'there you are Dana I figured it was time for teh biannual chill you out call.' (smart ass) So we look over my payments. and turns out
A) I didn't miss December and paid it double (I did this with my Geico bill as well because I'm obviously now insane)
B) So I should be paid ahead BUT they didn't use the money for the loan I sent it for. They used it for the other loan that just came due without telling me and now made me LATE on the loan that money was SUPPOSED to go to.
C) On my loan statement for the new loan, they're missing one og the loans which is 100$ hence the 135 $.
So she says MAIL me everything and don't pay them a dime. We'll get this straightened out.
ANd If I were to kill them like they so richly deserve, I'd be the one in jail. SOB.

By the way, I'm thinking of ordering a couple of things from Amazon in the next week or so, so if you want, I could get you that cd with it, so it'd be postage to my house free anyway, but it wouldn't be for a couple of weeks.

Date: 2005-03-01 05:55 pm (UTC)Huh. Funny, I didn't know bill collector-type folks like that *could* put your money to a different loan without your express permission. I always thought that putting a loan payment towards a different loan (even if they hold both loans and you're responsible for paying both) came under the heading of "fraud" or "misuse of funds".
