Went to AuntS2's house today for a while, listened to her bitch about Prejudice Girl who was really up to some crap (PG is AuntS2's twin's daughter). We were also going to my other cousin's house but it started snowing. It's going to be a very hard visit because he's dying.

I spent yesterday watching 80's SF, Aliens, Robocop They are still pretty good movies. Yes, dated when it comes to the tech but I still really enjoy them. Sadly Robocop was cut to hell and back for violence and language.

I finished that short story sent in Wales. I'm hoping it works. If anyone wants to look it over let me know.

Made some killer ham and bean soup tonight. Yum.

Which TV shows did you start watching in 2013?

Sleepy Hollow, Almost Human, Orphan Black, Atlantis, The Artful Detective

Which TV show did you let go of in 2013?
I’m not sure I have let go of anything I watched for anything length of time but NCIS, Criminal Minds, Castle, Haven and Arrow are all on thin ice. I simply couldn’t get into Orphan Black. I think it’s well acted and she deserves her accolades but I loathed the main character and was bored by the rest. Atlantis was just bad, let’s toss everything we think we know about Greek myth into the pot.

Which TV show did you mean to get into but didn't in 2013? Why?

Agents of Shield because I have the old VCR and I just couldn’t tape it. I meant to watch it online but I hate doing that. It hurts my eyes and my neck to watch crap on a monitor. Maybe I’ll get it on Netflix..

Which TV show do you intend to check out in 2014?

I have no idea what’s even coming out other than the three muskteers. I guess I could try that. And thanks to Masq I now know there’s a new Star Trek
Gotta watch that.

Which TV show impressed you least in 2013?

Orphan Black for the reasons I already detailed.

Which TV show did you enjoy the most in 2013?

I was pleasantly surprised by both Almost Human and Sleepy Hollow. I’m enjoying them.

The talking meme - [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom asked me what was my favorite and least favorite desserts. Probably my all time favorite is baklava. I just love the layers of cinnamony phyllo dough and honey. I do substitute pecans when I make it. I like pie and cheesecake. OhI do love cheesecake. tiramisu is high up on the list as well as is flan.

However, I am not very fond of cake. I never have been. I'll eat it but I just don't care for it. Any more, I'm liking very sweet things less and less. It gives me headaches and of course I'm not supposed to have it in the first place.

yaaaay 80s sci-fi! I love both of those movies

and I have never been a big fan of cake either... the ones I do like don't have frosting, such as a lemon cake that at most gets a drizzle of lemon juice mixed with confectioners sugar

I don't know if I've ever seen Robo-Cop all the way through. I know the premise, and we had a "Robo-Doc" on The Wombat, our Star Trek-inspired ship, but that's the most of what I know. I do love Alien and Aliens, though, and would LOVE to get my hands on my own copy of Aliens' Director's Cut one of these days, because I loved the expansions of Ripley's relationships.

Mmmm, Baklava. MMMMM.

I've seen it so many times I can fill in the cut parts from memory.

The director's cut would be interesting

:D I know I should like Peter Weller movies, but I don't think I've seen any of them all the way through. Not Buckaroo Bonzai, nor Robo-Cop, nor Robo-Cop II, nor...Uh....

It added about fifteen minutes, so it wasn't a lot, but I liked it.

Robocop was about the only one I liked.

Hmmm. Like I said, I haven't seen any of them all the way through. I know I didn't like Buckeroo Bonzai, which is why I didn't ever see it all the way through.

SJ, you really need to see robocop. even though I cringe and close my eyes (and usually mute) when they are shooting him, it's a good old school sci-fi actioner
