And I know it. Thank you. I asked the first readers for Kept Tears to give me some questions for my characters for another blog post they came right through. Thank you. It's much appreciated.

And now I need more help. It'll be fun. I'm trying to use my geekiness as a learning point by proposing students figure out how some fantasy/sf/superhero elements work AND making them research what it is for baseline humans.

For instance, Superman has x-ray vision. What wavelength of light is that? What can humans see? How does Supes turn it off and on? What would it be like if he couldn't etc.

SO I'm calling on my friends to give me characters (fantasy, SF, superhero, manga/anime etc) that have super senses since that's the chapter I'm in. Hit me with your best characters.

I got very little done today. I did get part of the room cleaned and now Kanda is sitting in the clean spot to make me feel even worse about the mess.

I did get to the library and they are having a Valentine giveaway that's so cute I took two books. They have the books wrapped in brown paper bags and covered in hearts and what have you. You pick one for a 'blind date' and review the book to a chance to win. I got a YA book about a war dog and some thriller I'm pretty sure I'll have (i.e. lengths rich dad will go to protect his sons when they do something wrong...) I think it'll be fun.

declutter day 197 item tossed-Bottle of eye drops why kept-For allergies why tossed -EMPTY. OMG WHY? okay I know why. I figure i'll toss it later but never do.

Adopt one today!

Just FYI this song needs to be played whenever I go to the next plane of existence. Points to music.

ETA - once again eating scallops had dropped my sugar. This happens every time. Oh I wish I knew enough biochemistry and had the equipment to research this. I'm telling you there's something to it. Sadly they weren't good (expensive mind you) I bought them as a treat as they were on sale but apparently my piss poor sealed sink leaked onto the pans and dried clear. there was something caustic in the butter and on the scallops.

ETA 2 - I forgot to mention I think I broke at least two if not three of my fingers on my left hand (distal phalanges). I slammed all four fingers in the front door this morning as the outdoor cat tried to get in and the indoor cat tried to get out. Middle and ring finger are black and blue and numb so at the very least I traumatized the crap out of the nerves.

Wolverine, sense of smell

That's the only one I can come up with at the moment, but I'm sure others will have characters to talk about.

Aww, the Valentine thing sounds like tons of fun.

You're welcome for the questions.

Oh, well, werewolves can be almost anything - superhearing, superstrength, shapechanging, superscent.

I wanna know more about the YA one, obviously.

I cried in the Sonic's drive thru (thank god for sunglasses) because it opens with an 11 year old boy being forced to give up Cracker, his GSD to the army because his family was forced into an apt that doesn't allow them and its from his pov and the dogs.

You wanted to know why and how it worked, in relation to your diabetes. And I happened to have a site bookmarked on just that. Hope it helps.

How about the Bionic Man (there was a Bionic Woman, too), the senses and physical powers were enhanced by scifi technology.
I'm not sure what exactly was heightened, but I think there was improved hearing as well as better eyes, and of course he could run very fast.

Ooh that's right. I'm pretty sure one of them had improved hearing. Thanks

I don't know if it's a super-sense in a way that would be useful to your lesson plan, but Tony Chu and a handful of other characters in the comics series Chew are 'cibopaths' which means they get psychic impressions from whatever food they taste.
