Honestly, while I saw her name around Buffy fandom for years, I didn't know Emeraldswan. However, I wanted to be sure her friends saw this.

purplefeen is putting together something special for her children.

Because I feel completely helpless and lost over emeraldswan's death, I've decided to make a scrapbook that Aric can fill with pictures of Mary for Gavin, Brighid and Asher, so that they will know their mother a little better. (In case you didn't know, I've gotten into papercrafting.)

I would like to add some of our (her online friends) memories of her on some journaling cards in one of the pockets in the book. If you have a memory, or a quote, or an anecdote - or anything really - that you would like to include for Mary's kids, please send it to me at purplefeen at gmail.com

I've had an uncle and a best friend who each died at 33 years old and in both cases, their young children did not know their father well or have any memories of him and I don't want that to happen to Mary's kids. I want them to know their mother, and I would like your help.

I will, of course, attribute the piece to you - unless you would rather remain anonymous. Just let me know how you would like your name to read: first name, first and last name, writing pseudonym, nickname, whatever.

If you would like to hand-write something yourself and have it included, that would be fine. Just make sure it is in an envelope smaller than 5"x8". Contact me via email and I'll give you the mailing address.

I know I couldn't possibly know everyone that Emmy was friends with, so if you would please copy this to your own journals and pass it on, I would be grateful. I won't be able to even get started on the book until late next week, so there are a few weeks for you to get your thoughts together. I'll post a deadline when I get close to finishing the book. I would really like to write for THIS open call (for Celebrate). I did that Welsh duo who didn't get picked up. Do I try again with them and Alban Arthan (the winter solstice) which would be contemporary? Do I do something similar but paranormal? I find it hard to find 5K in a contemporary story but I'm not sure what to try. Suggestion?
