blaar_rosir - She does some really nice Cangel work and I can say that even though it's not one of my favorite ships. Check it out at One More Addication.

 

druinsanity  - I'm just starting to discover her stuff but she does a great Anya. Check out Love's Sacrifice

 

catlove  - She used to do some really great Cordelia fic and she's moved into the HP realm so give her website a glance (and check out her icon site too)

 

jadedcynic  - Someone else I'm just getting to read. I really like her Faith so head to her LJ too

 

rahirah  - She's another one I've known forever and a day since the 80's and Elfquest. Nowadays she does a killer Buffy/Spike. Head to Barb's BTVS Fanfic

And heck with it, check out scribesds, stars91, and tinpanalley and probably just about anyone else in my Flist since we're almost all writers. If I forgot anyone I'm sorry.

So, I couldn't sleep last night and I started thinking. This "Author Appreciation" week has been FABULOUS and definitely a great, great thing but I started wondering about the other people who comprise our fandom and don't generally get thanks. Like, the wonderful icon makers? Or the people who are always volunteering for a quick beta when needed? The ever-dependent betas writers couldn't do without? The consistent feedbackers who make a point to let the authors know how much they and their stories are appreciated? The amazing people who are always reccing new stories for others to broaden their horizons? The genuinely nice people who make this fandom such a fun place, the people who delight in the fandom no matter the craziness of it? I think these people need appreciation as well because without them, we wouldn't have such a fantastic, inspiring, wonderful, thoughtful, smart fandom. So I say we give the unsung heros of fandom their own special appreciation week. Who's with me? I declare March 13-20 the "Unsung Heroes of Fandom Appreciation Week." If no one else wants to participate, that's fine but each day I will post my praise of someone oft-overlooked in fandom.
