You get tired of the bad health news. I took mom to her eye doc for macular degeneration. While it's not worse it's also no better. Sigh. Her doc is from Belguim and he was thrilled that I was a doctor. He showed me how all the medicines get injected while mom's sitting there with the Clockwork Orange eye clamp in place.

We also went to the casino because my family gambles too much had time to kill and I won't going for weeks. Luck was not a lady. She was a bitch.

We also went to see Grandma. She was pretty funny today.

Got Chinese and even though I ate no rice and did NOT get a sweet meal, my sugar is over 300. Fuck.

I got nothing done today writing or work

many times. Also I'm board certified in diabetic care. It was my specialty. My endocrinologist has given up. He literally told me to find an experimental endo because nothing makes any sense with me.

I'm in health and wellness as well. I found that when docs run out of ideas it's time to get back to basics- stress management, yoga, spring cleaning (or rearranging?), new colors and styles in the home, and a diet that meets all the vitamin and nutritional needs. Toss the books aside and try an Eastern wellness philosophy?

done all that too. Nada. Cleaning stresses me out. Ive done yoga and meditation for years even though they've had zero impact on my overall health. I've tried any kind of diabetic friendly diet and supplement you care to name. I've even started research into supplement claims and there's not much good there but I need to be in a bigger university to continue that work.

Though I appreciate the suggestions. I even did a 15 week hard core exercis program and it did NOTHING. My blood sugar remained the same. My weight didnt' budge. That's about when my endo started to give up hope.

Weekly spa days it is then. Wouldn't hurt to sit down with a counselor too and really assess areas just for the different perspective.

that's why he wants me to sit down with the experimental endocrinologist. it has to wait until after my surgery on monday
