When I die
Jul. 24th, 2014 11:44 pmand go to hell, that arm bike will be waiting for me. I'm already sick to death of that. John added in two more exercises for home for me. It's going to take me two hours to do them (an hour a session). Oh the pain.
Went to the Amish store today. Bought yummies. I'm hoping the no sugar added rhubarb-strawberry jam is good.
Happy Birthday to
sillymagpie and a late birthday to
bodgei. Hope you had a good day.
Anyone watching Syfy's new(ish) shows?
Defiance - I watched it hit and miss last year. Been watching it more with the parents this year. It's okay. I think it's getting overly convoluted but not interesting enough for me to follow along. I think what annoys me is the females. I can live with few female characters and prefer that to lots of females done badly. This is somewhere in between. The two alien females are rather tough. Kudos. But the humans? OMG, the young girl is a damn doormat and Julie Benz's character goes from tough major to drug addicted slut.Headdesk.
The Almighty Johnsons. I was dubious just from the commericials. I thought maybe it was comedy. I could see it working at that. But with that title and goddesses being the enemy I was wincing so hard. I gave it a shot. Bailed in twenty minutes. It was boring, misogynistic and apparently contained plenty of swears.
Dominion - This one I'm enjoying. I did see the movie this was based on. Read an article about how it's usually bad to make a TV show from a movie though it did pointed out Buffy did it. This is not Buffy good but it is interesting. I DO like seeing Tony Head playing the villain. I like the angles are also pretty villainous. I've never seen angels as Hallmark happy creatures. When we see them in the holy texts be it from any of the three major religions, angels are warriors and downright nasty.
I do think the actor playing the chosen one looks a bit old for the role. It's holding my interest but I think Michael has a lot to do with that. He sort of does it for me. I think it's got enough meat without being confusing. The women are rather tough and I like that Uriel is female and playing the middle against both ends with Gabriel and Michael. Out of these three, it's the one I like the best.

Date: 2014-07-25 09:20 am (UTC)I've seen the first episode of The Almighty Johnsons, and I'm willing to give it a try. It looks silly.

Date: 2014-07-25 09:06 pm (UTC)the episode I watched had zero silly. It was being played deadly serious and when the plan was to sleep with as many women as possible so Thor could find Frig I was out of there. If it had been silly I might have been more forgiving.
