Got a job interview in Jacksonville on Thursday to become an Anatomy Prof. It took them until today to tell me if my interview was Wed. or Thur. According to Mapquest (a less than reliable resource) it's only an 1 1/2 drive up there. I've made that drive before and thought it was closer to 3 hours. I decided that since my interview is in the A.M. to just drive up tomorrow and rent a room. Worse, my 15 powerpoint looks odd. For some reason the template is missing. It's just bare words....

Got my interview for a similiar job in Kansas set up in two weeks. Between the two my parents are coming for a visit. Wheee.

Worse than all of this, I find out today that my thesis report advisor gave me an incomplete for the semester. This is my 4th degree. I've never gotten an incomplete before in my life. The kick in the ass is the thesis part is fine. It's just grammatical stuff that needs fixing. I don't know if the incomplete comes off my record or not once I fix the thing again. The problem started in day one when he told me this would take semesters to do and I said, 'no, I'm non-thesis. This is just a 'thesis' report. It takes ONE semester.' I'm not sure that ever sank in. Sigh. And I was so wiped from narcotics for this broken tooth to even fight about it. I just signed off because it was that or take an F (not exactly fair since we both know I don't deserve that) for not turning my thesis in. Is it any wonder I grind my teeth so hard they break?

Bubble bath!

Or get some fish, they're very good at destressing people :)

I hope, no scratch that, I know everything's going to get easier soon, but in the mean time *hugs* because it seems as though you need some comfort.

Thanks. I miss my cat. Not that he was good at destressing you. Actually I think he's out to give heart attacks. Just ask my parents with whom he lives now.

And my bath tub isn't relaxing. It's pepto bismal pink. It disturbs me...

But THANKS.

I think the parents coming could be the most stressful of all - if your mum is anything like mine. Typical example - having big family dinner at their place when they were here. Mum's in kitchen doing roast, everyone else out on verandah. I go into kitchen to help mum and she takes the roast pan out of the oven and puts in down on the island bench. "Don't touch the pan, it's hot" she says to me. I blink. Thank you for telling me mother, I wasn't aware that a roasting tray straight out of the oven was hot. After all, I am only 36 years old.

And Kansas?? Um, can I make obligatory Dorothy and Toto cracks?

No you can't.

And yes my parents are. They are neatness fanatics. Sharon and I well we're slobs. Even if we spent three weeks cleaning straight it would never be clean enough for my mom. I told her one word about it and she's sleeping in the yard with the fire ants. Two to one, she starts up in five minutes while my dad's outside with a magnefying glass looking for scratchs on my car and yelling that I haven't taken care of them.
