The very question I asked myself at 5 Am after not being able to get to sleep until 2. I first thought 'screw it' then thought 'that was kinda loud.

Remember when I said I stacked 4 storage bins of books in the closet and figured they'd be all right. Yeah I was wrong and BOY was I wrong. It was like the Tasmanian Devil went through there. Two of them were down, having taken out the other rolling storage unit and all the cleaning supplies with it. RIGHT into both of Kanda's litter boxes so I'm glad I got up.

But did they land face up so I could empty them and then move them? Oh hell no. Face down in the litter. On top of the cleaning supplies, even deeper in the litter (irony). I'm not allowed to lift anything over 3 pounds. That big box is 75 lbs if it's 1 and the other is a good 40. Sigh. I dead lift them both and sling them into the kitchen for cleaning and moving at some time that isn't five in the fucking morning.

I go back to bed. My shoulder is going 'you bitch.' And my knee is burning. WTF? I get out of bed and see it's completely scraped clean of skin and bleeding. I don't even remember hitting it when I dead lifted. Okay then. I fix it up, go back to bed again, never fall asleep. Whee. BUt it was a good thing in a way because some how the alarm got turned off. I KNOW I set it because I sit on the edge of the bed, turn it on, block the face of the clock off so the light doesn't bug me and get my book off the stand so I can read.

•1 1/2pounds butternut squash, peeled, halved, seeded, and cut into 1-1/2-inch cubes (3 cups)

•2ounces aged white cheddar cheese, coarsely shredded (1/2 cup)
• 1tablespoon snipped fresh sage or 1/2 teaspoon dried sage, crushed
• 1tablespoon pure maple syrup
•2 slices turkey bacon, cooked according to package directions

1. In a covered medium saucepan, cook squash cubes in enough boiling water to cover about 15 minutes or until tender; drain and return squash to hot saucepan.

2. Using a potato masher or electric mixer, mash drained squash. Stir in the cheese, sage, and syrup. Chop the cooked turkey bacon and sprinkle atop squash.

NOTE: That recipe is as it is from Diabetic Living. I played with it a little. For one, I added a little ginger, cinnamon and all spice to taste so it was more pie-like. Also I cheated and skipped the whole do it myself part and bought squash puree. Hee. Works fine and in 8 minutes it's ready. If it's a bit bitter, toss in a little no-calorie sweetner of choice.

So I finally got to see Winter Soldier
I very obviously missed hearing Sam Wilson's name. I've been so swamped I had to watch this in 15 min segments over days. So when I finally saw him in action I went 'well I'm annoyed. Hawkman is an alien.'

Thought for a moment. Wait...that's not right. WHy is it not right? OMG Hawkman is DC Comics not Marvel....FALCON!

Oh Falcon, how could I forget you? I even had you as a kid. No lie
I had this action figure. He used to date headless Barbie (sorry I beheaded your girlfriend, Falcon. You only got a girlfriend because grandma insisted that's how girls played with dolls...Johnny Storm had Wonder Woman if anyone is wondering. No don't ask).

I thought he ended up very cool

yes I contain spoilers galore but am very funny.

I pick on Arizona a lot because...well, let's be honest, they make it so easy but they do sometimes get it right. Az Biker gang protects abused kids in court

Okay, LJ ate my comment for some unknown reason.

At any rate, as I was trying to say, of course your heaviest stuff and books would land either in the litter box or the water bowl (or both, if at all possible).

Sam Wilson was very cool. I liked him.

And last night was obviously the night for things going flying - two boxes full of stuff went from their stack of stuff down to the floor while I was in the shower. It startled me, as it'd been sitting in that stack for a while.

and yes naturally it would be so. It must have been the night of entropy then.

Sam was very cool.

Oh yeah! I hope Kanda didn't give you grief over it.

*nods* Yeah? I haven't seen that many movies myself, but those that I have, have been in the theater.

Oh yeah!!

that's sweet. I'm so rural our theatre is only opening for 2 showings at night and that means it's crowded

Date: 2014-10-08 10:13 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
OMG! It sooo is! It sounds bizarre at first, but once you've seen a movie like that, you wonder how you ever managed to see one in a normal movie seat. I've also been to a theater with wait-service. There's a menu, you pick what you want from popcorn to hot dogs, pizza & they'll bring it to you. That combined with the recliners, would be heaven! :D

WOW! That is rural! XD

Yeah? Now that I think about it the one with food also had a bar, cuz they turned away a couple that had an infant with them.

You know, that does have a certain charm to it... :D

they might have or some places have put in age limits. I had one that had that until someone sued. It's like thanks jerk. The rule was there because NO ONE wants to hear your baby cry in an R rated movie.

yes I suppose it does

Date: 2014-10-12 01:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
That too. And the way things come out quickly on DVD or PPV on TV, there's no reason to drag a baby to an R movie.

*nods*
