exciting thing to happen this Easter. Mass was dull, dull, dull. The last few Easters were interesting,

preachers from Africa, went to the spiritualist church last year. This year it was endless rambling

and the WORST most unlyrical phrasings for the responses I've ever seen. I've never had a priest

just shove in the sign of the cross multiple times in the middle of no where and what was up with

tacking  three Hail Mary's after Mass was over?

SIgh. Anyhow hope you have a nice Easter (or had a happy Purim or good Ostara). I'm making an exam and trying to write...and playing with my LJ. So tell sissi_blucas what you think of her work.

Yes, I can imagine. It would be very interesting to explore, starting off from Darla and Angelus's reaction to finding she was pregnant, and how it would affect William and Drusilla. And then with Connor growing up, the interaction between all of them. Hmm.....

Envious of your wonderful Congel layout! Of course, I have a sort-of Congel layout. Had to throw Mom into the mix as well.

But this layout of yours is inspiring my double-Congel fic writing burden at the moment (two Congel reunion episodes, one for each fic series I'm writing).

Your layout wants to make me skip this painful Season 4 viewing I'm doing and skip right to "Origin". God, I haven't watched this in a long time, and knowing how it ends makes it really hard to watch. Connor and Angel keeping each other at arm's length, the hostility and coldness. Connor being used mercilessly by everyone and Angel not paying enough attention to notice--at least, when he has a soul.

But I have to watch. It's like I rewrote all this in my mind at some point in the last few years not watching it and it was somehow happier then or something.

It's amazing how your brain alters these memories. I've lured someone into the Connor/Faith love and now she's watching S4 with all new eyes, probably wondering how she missed all this pain. (She didn't like Connor much the first time thru)

Connor is in such obvious pain. He has nothing really, and he's clinging to what little is there hoping something will be real. But nothing is real. Everyone's using him or ignoring him. The one person who claims to love him is cold and pushes him away. And of course Connor acts like he doesn't care and he doesn't need anything from Angel.

He's not all that likeable, because he's just a bitter wall of resentment and hurt--or someone trying to protect themselves by being hurt by putting up a wall of hostility. And at the same time, there's this gentle sweetness about him, this openness to love that makes him vulnerable to being used. God, it just kills me. I can't pay any attention to the larger plot or any of the characters or what's going on, because I can't take my eyes off the train wreck that is Connor and his bastard of a father.

I'm trying to get a handle on these two for my fic episodes, but they're as slippery as wet weasels. Everytime I think I have my finger on their dynamic, I get thrown by them. Maybe that *is* their dynamic. Inconsistent writing.

yeah there is plenty of inconsistent writing. That was last night's conversation...mostly dealing with Connor's fighting abilities and how he went from the toughest thing on Quor-Toth to Faith beating him in about three punches.

Guess what? He *is* tiny next to him. It gives the illusion there's a significant age difference between them, but the truth is, Connor/VK is just a tiny skinny little thing. Can a boy inherit being small from his mother? Do I spend too much time thinking about all this?

I have three pet theories

a) he took after Darla
b) he was malnourished in QUor-Toth and never grew
c) he is in part vampire demon and without the blood for true nurition he ended up small

The malnutrition thing works for me. Unless Darla's biological family were small, slight people, it just seems really odd a big guy like Angel would have a teeny tiny son like that.

yeah that's my usual wank if I need to use it. You're supposed to be taller than the same sex parent. COnnor's about 4-5 inches short
