Happy Halloween. I wore my steampunk outfit today.

I got tricked. Had to go for the mammogram today. Whee. My treat? Baby back ribs at Rowdy's. I still smell like smoke and sauce. YUM.

Be on the look out for my spook_me stories, which I pretty much pulled out of my ass in the last 48 hours.

And I laughed. Out of 200 people putting in for my novel giveaway, a friend wins! That made me happy.

yeah and they put up your previous films and I'm like wow...that's a whole lotta breast tissue (filled with fibrotic changes. poor things)

I have those too (like my mom)
and the tech always scares me a little bit, saying things like "I need to re-do this dense area so they don't call you back or want to do any other tests" but she won't let me look or give me details. so far, it has always been the fibroids, but soooo many have breast cancer down here that it always has that edge

same here (mom too). I've had to have mammos since my 20s. There is no breast cancer in my family but you and I both are high risk since we had no kids

There is breast cancer in my family, but only in my mother's sister who is the only one to have taken female hormone long term. It occurred late in her life (in her late 60s), and she had a double mastectomy rather than treatment with several lumpectomies. She said the latter process was too expensive, stressful and painful (requiring frequent biopsies). She told them to just take both breasts. After that, all she had to do was one round of chemo, and there have been no more problems. Also, I might be at higher risk because I had a first trimester abortion in my early 20s.

I was going to try for some more of this year's Halloween eggs, but when I remembered to go back around 9:15 last night, it was past midnight EST (boo). Oh, well. I got three of them.

I have to see if there's any difference between the ones that come from different regions -- I got all of mine in the Volcano.

Nano... Oy.
