No wait, I mean I VOTED. Same difference from the looks of things. The democrats were expected to lose Ohio by a ridiculous margin. I voted anyhow. My silver lining. No more fucking Republican commercials from WV. As I went past the theatre today I realize I hadn't seen an ad for a SINGLE movie there because of the political ads.

And enough of politics because my life is more than that. I did something scary-exciting today. I FINALLY sent in Soldiers of the Sun for consideration. You can read all about it here And I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog, [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn and [livejournal.com profile] katimac8 for all their help on the novel. I couldn't have done this without your help and support.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] bay115 & [livejournal.com profile] ishte and my brother who isn't going to see this anyhow.

Ohio just keeps going backward. At least the important tax levies in my area passed.

So is Wisconsin. It was the Haight-Ashbury of the Midwest and now it's even more conservative than OH. Sigh. I was so hoping we'd be rid of this governor but guess not

Everyone seems so focused on the few things he did right and forgetting the many things he did wrong. I just wish people would leave religion out of politics. They seem to forget that people came to this country to get away from things like this.

Me too. I feel like we're living in the 1600s, except that the 1600s treated women better.

Yeah, in Arizona voting Democrat is like standing up and asking to have your teeth kicked in, but I vote on principle, dammit.

Congrats on submitting the novel!

I couldn't even make it through the first volume of Dune.

same here

thank you. It's about damn time on that one

Dune was well boring. I was okay with the first one but that's about it. I've never understood the mystique

The last couple of weeks have been like sitting in a broken-down car on the railroad tracks watching the train come at you, politically speaking. Glad to have it over and hope that the pendulum can start swinging back the other way...hopefully in 2016.

I liked the first Dune, but none of the others.

Yes, that's it exactly.

Same here. It's possible I never read beyond the second book. I had them all because of the collection but I don't remember reading them

Good to know I'm not the only one who didn't love Dune. I only read the first one, but that was enough.
