Did do a little today. Hope people like random crap from Bed Bath and Beyond and Halfprice books... most of my friends declined to tell me what they might want. At least my brother didn't tell me 'nothing' like the last three years when you know damn well he doesn't want nothing. It's not feeling like the holidays. I'm still in shock it's this late in the year!

Didn't think I'd make it there for a while. This makes the TENTH write a novel in a month challenge I've won. Now I have stopped forward progression (expect for a couple undone scenes) and need to go back to the beginning and a) start piecing all the non-linear scenes I wrote for this, b) see what else needs doing and c) start smoothing out a few chapters for beta reading.

I usually love shopping this time of year, and I'm usually pretty good at selecting gifts for people, but this year has been tough. Not difficult to find things for ME, mind you (dear God, keep me from spending more money!), but presents have been eluding me... I think a lot of people are going to get cookies and fudge.

Congrats on NaNo. I was calling mine "Sometimes the Other Side is Blue," but I'm not certain about that as a title... (I rather like "Blood Red Roulette."

Yeah I feel like I'm dangling out there trying to figure out what people want. I was bored with some of what the SiL wanted. I need to get her some cat toys. I have a friend who wants cookies. I wanted to get her a housewarming gift but she's put me off every time I've asked.

We have some friends who always get us either what they want, or what they THINK we want (based on what they want), and usually it means Barb sits with the rigor-smile on saying "Thank you!" and it goes in the first Goodwill box we send out the next year.

I always like to make sure my presents are something the person would actually WANT...

I'm doing all my shopping online this year. The brick-and-mortar stores have bupkus anymore, unless you're shopping for clothes (call me old-fashioned, but I like to try stuff on before I buy it, just to make sure it doesn't do weird things to my hips or dip down and give me plumber's crack every time I bend over).

Here's a big hint, if you're looking for Christmas for me: _The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm_. You know, the new, unfiltered translation of all the sick and twisted tales the way the grannies really told them. Or tea. I'm always up for tea.
